My boss was fired because she was made the weekend supervisor of a different department (together with already being in charge of my department the rest of the time) by complete surprise on a Friday and something went wrong on Sunday which she was blamed for and then fired Monday morning.

Shortly after the interim boss decided that my department needed to work weekend call for the other one, so I jumped ship to a similar company that paid better.

I liked my original boss, and she was very good at her job, so I was already pissed about her being fired (or really set up to be fired). Putting me on call for a department I don’t even work at when I specifically took this job in the first place because there was no call was the final straw.

My current boss is incompetent, but also too busy with other things to bother me, so I keep my numbers higher than anyone else in my department to keep her away from me.

I bring 3 oranges, a sandwich (surprising, I know), a yogurt, water and generally a gatorade.

I really like oranges, and this way I have fresh fruit every day. Bananas check a lot of the same boxes for portability and convenience, but I mainly only like them when they’re still green so it’s not always easy to have them consistently through a work week.

The sandwich can be almost anything, since I tend to swap sandwich ingredients weekly, but I really like sourdough so that’s my staple bread most of the time.

Best thing to do is ignore them as most replies are going to add fuel to the fire, because it’s likely your reaction that they’re entertained by.

Wit, however, is a skill like anything, and actually delivering a sick burn on the spot when it counts is hard, and takes time to be good at. (Timing and delivery are key, if you waver at all, even a good retort will flop)

What I would say is just continue being yourself and don’t let the haters get you down, because it sounds to me like maybe you’re focusing on the right things at school, and maybe they’re not.

With a good attitude, a clear conscience and your head held high, you’ll always come out better off than them in the long run.
