Its not even that cold. They would have to be basically entirely sheltered for this to happen. Like, a tent and a blanket would be enough to survive the low temperatures in Israel right now. These are people who don’t have so much as a blanket. From what I can see the lowest overnight temperature of the last week or so was 40 degrees F (4.5C), which is cold, but not fatal unless people aren’t permitted so much as the most meager shelters.
