There is one “skip” done by using Misty Step to get into an area that normally requires you to have completed a story quest first.

I also had the issue with not being able to load subscribed instances. I think someone said it was tied to a forced logout of some sort that happened. I resolved it by removing the accounts from Liftoff, then re-adding them. Afterwards, it worked fine.
