For us it all comes down to Threema vs Signal vs Simplex. I think Matrix leaks too much metadata and the onboarding is a mess.
Threema has a bit of an advantage for us due to no phone numbers required for accounts.
Simplex could fit our use case also but the battery drain on users with Android and specifically running GrapheneOS is huge…

I mean, a big percentage of users does not have Synology HDDs, what would happen if they implement this? Maybe this will be the case for business uses of some of their apps?

It can run containers with bo issues. Regarding streaming media you might get a separate tv box (I use Nvidia tv sheild with lineageos) and you won’t have any transcoding issues!
