Mastodon@lemmy.world•I would like to set up a Mastodon account (bot) that mirrors a profile that currently exists on Bluesky. Is it possible to automate this?English
2·3 days agoIf you don’t have ownership of an account then no, you can’t setup Bridgy. But if they have a website that does like blog post kind of stuff, Bridgy may be able to do that.
https://fed.brid.gy/docs#web-get-started
there’s also bots available to mirroring twitter or RSS to Mastodon
That probably varies based on local culture. But I’ve never lived anywhere that it’s not the norm that unless otherwise stated in the invitation, the host is paying for the party.

2·3 days agoawesome!
edit: I forgot to mention that Fedi users can setup Bridgy as well, so that they’re interactions make it back to the Bluesky account, too.
I thought he mentioned that in the video. I was definitely aware after watching it, but maybe it was from the comments.
yeah is going to be interesting.

2·4 days agoRight. I meant you should DM the account on Bluesky and ask them to setup up Bridgy themselves. Then you, or anyone really, can follow the bridged account on Mastodon and boost it like any other.

politics @lemmy.world•Poll: Voters who say economic and political systems are stacked against them tie a record highEnglish
4·4 days agoall the other things I said were to ensure that you have every capacity to vote how you truly prefer rather than being dictated to select one of a small group. If you currently don’t vote as a protest against the candidates, voting for “none of the above” accomplishes that while taking away the interpretation that you didn’t vote because you don’t care.

5·4 days agoMake registration automatic and voting mandatory. Require ranked choice for every election of a person as well as a “none of the above” option. If a majority of voters pick “none of the above” as their #1 choice, hold a new election for that office with all new candidates.
edit: also make mail-in the standard for all votes.
always finding their way up onto the roof or gravitationally pulled into that one stupid post they could easily walk around.

1·8 days agoOn this issue, on this vote, you can take your own pick of any one of the over 200 House Democratic representatives who voted to restrict Trump’s authority. Or not. If you want to choose to ignore the good things they do that’s on you.

politics @lemmy.world•Rep. Dan Crenshaw says culture of misinformation fueled his primary loss: “The truth didn’t matter”English
5·9 days agoMy experience is that the more leftist voters will sit it out unless they have someone they want to vote for, while the more rightward voters are very excited to go and vote against someone. We saw in 2024 that the Uncommitted vote has power. More people should show up in the primaries like that. It tells the nominee and the campaign strategists that there are active voters in that district who’s votes need to be earned still. And it’s public record that they voted in the primary so those voters can expect to be canvased to give their feedback on the issues.
