That last statement is meaningless given the crazy levels of security they have on keeping people in. If they took away all the restrictions on leaving then the numbers would go through the roof.

The fact they’re called defectors says it all. Anywhere else they’d be called emigrants.
Or when you have a table and you move a column on a single row but then you can never get the column to line up with the rest again.
I’m getting this too.
I don’t think you can correlate the number of readers to the number of book instances or whatever they’re called. Most people (myself included) probably just use Goodreads, and BookWyrm is probably a good enough alternative that there’s no need to spin up another.
Edit: according to this there’s a lot of instances: https://joinbookwyrm.com/instances/
I hate them too but unfortunately the vast majority of schools require them. It pisses me off how much time and energy is spent enforcing meaningless rules.
Na, they can definitely look worse! I had one on the other day that I didn’t iron and by the end of the day it still looked terrible, more so than if it had originally been ironed.
People get really weird about this, they act like you MUST cycle and train it everywhere and anything is just an excuse.
Unfortunately the kids school uniform needs ironing, and my t-shirts are always way more creased when they dry on the washing line outside than when they’ve been in the drier.
There’s been civil wars in nations all over the world. I think they’re poking fun at which is the civil war? I’m guessing it’s the Spanish one.
As much as I’d like this to happen I don’t think there’s a big push to rejoin. Nobody is talking about this this election.
The joke isn’t the program itself, it’s the process of deploying a website to servers.
I like the idea, but sometimes it’s nice to have a community that’s UK focused. Something that I see on r/ukparenting is that posting / commenting on the more global parenting subreddits can be quite unwelcoming due to cultural differences in the way different countries do things, and they tend to be dominated by US users.
Obviously, everyone is welcome here! But it will have more of a UK bias due to the instance this community is hosted on. Also, I think I prefer the name “dads” over the “fatherverse”, but that’s just my opinion :)
What’s the underlying problem that’s causing water companies to go down this route? Has there been a chronic lack of investment over the years and now they aren’t keeping up with demand and having to dump it instead of process it?

I feel like this really is the key.
What do we think about the local communities feature? My first reaction was great, but then I worry that popular communities might get hidden, ruining the point of federation.
I feel like they might be ok if a local community can only be set up by admins.
It would be good if a community was read only for anyone from a different instance but local users can write to it.
The cost is insane. We were looking at going down to London from Lancashire this weekend for a concert, and it would have cost £235 for both of us, return.
Of course the car would cost too, fuel, parking etc but no where near that price.
You’ve just described the UK.
