The “never have I ever” comments got me thinking… for the people who have never tried cannabis: would you consider trying it if it were legal for recreational use, and you could just go to a shop and buy it in any form… smoke, vape, edibles?

I just read through everyone’s list and the only one which I haven’t done is get a tattoo.
To add my own… and I’m not sure if this falls under “popular” but I’ve never broken a bone. Never gotten anybody pregnant/had any kids. Never sky dived/bungee jumped. Never drank more than a sip of red wine. Never tried meth or heroin. Never killed anybody. Never been to Japan. Oh actually there’s one… I’ve never punched anybody in the face.
Pedicures are incredible and worth whatever varnish smell the place has. Got my first back in I think 2015 and I haven’t looked back.
I’ve figured out my next audiobook now that I’ve finished World War Z.
I’m going to try and work my way through Terry Pratchett’s Discworld books. There’s like 41 of them though and figuring out a reading order is pretty complicated. Peoples “guides” online are more suggestions than guides. One thing everyone agrees on though, even apparently Mr. Pratchett himself, is not to start at the beginning.
I’ve started with book #4, Mort. Which is the first in the “Death” sub-series. Like I said, it’s complicated.
Also I found a site with a torrent of aaaaaall of the audiobooks which makes me very happy.
I just want to give a quick shoutout to the unsung heroes of Easter: Thumbnails. As in the fingernails on your thumbs. Is there any other time of the year when it’s more important to have a good thumbnail?
If you’re unsure what I’m banging on about… check out my half-price post-Easter haul for reference:
Other end of the row of stalls
Nah but I’m pretty sure Hannah Watts Park would have one if you’re hunting one down.
This was at Yarraville Shopping Centre.
Seemed rude not to.
Seriously though I actually did a big Nope-180 out of the stall and found another at the other end.
I’ll be 41 years old this month.
I’d like to say I’ve lived a bit of a life. I’ve had and lost friends. I’ve found and lost love. I was even married for a little while. I was directionless career-wise coming out of high school but now I’m quite successful and am paid well for it. I’m moderately well-travelled. I’ve been to and seen a lot of places both domestic and abroad and not all of them were so nice… some were even outright sketchy.
But today, on April 1st 2024 - I saw my very first bona fide, honest-to-god, ready for use, manky Glory Hole. A clearly frequented hole in the side of a toilet stall complete with some eager gent waiting on the other side.
From now on my life has been split in two; before I saw a Glory Hole and after. I was so young in the before-times. So naive. So full of hope.
Nothing like accidentally falling asleep when it’s still daytime and waking up 2.5 hours later when it’s night to confuse the hell out of you.
Clothes washed and hung, burrito consumed, car washed, wiper fluid refilled, coffee & hot cross bun acquired. That’s me for the day done. Guess I’ll play some video games.
I made a video from my dashcam footage from my trip back from Albury today if anyone is into that sort of thing.
Albury to Docklands in 24 minutes (the video is still processing so the link won’t work until 1:30am)
Breakfassssst. Going to go for a look at Yackandandah on my way back today. I’d never heard of it but there is a new big sign on the Hume which mentions it… unless I just missed it all these years.
Might stop in Beechworth for some Billson’s too. See how I feel.
The receptionist at the motel gave me a couple of those tiny Lindt Easter eggs when I checked in. I just ate them and they’re the first Easter chocolate I’ve had this year but now I’ve had a taste I want mooooore!
Changed my mind while I was out driving around the state and headed north because I was able to snag the last room at a motel I like in Albury for their normal non-inflated price of $150.
Thing is… I left my apartment today with intentions of coming home so I have nothing with me. I managed to find an open shop (apparently IGAs are open every day of the year) to grab some hair product so I can go out tonight. Can’t wear my hat out to the club.
So now I sit in my motel room eating banana chips, watching NRL on the tv and about to sneak an hour nap before I head out to the club which is literally next door 👌
YOU HAVEN’T SEEN B99?? Crazy.
Also if you like the vibe of Superstore you might like Tacoma FD… which I’ve just learned has been cancelled after 4 seasons noooooo
Saw Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire this evening. I like that they’re not taking it too seriously these days with this franchise. It’s simple storied, full of cheesy exposition and it’s big dumb fun. There is a place in the world for kaiju movies which delve into human nature and deeper meanings but this franchise ain’t it… and that’s just fine by me.
Snuck a cheeky can of bourbon into the cinema instead of buying a ludicrously expensive softdrink. Damn The Man. Break the system.

Considering I can’t make up my mind on where I’d like to go this weekend, I think I might just save my money and sleep at home. Maybe just do a day trip or two. Maybe I should actually try going somewhere in the city considering I live here, try a pub or something. A few hundred a night minimum to stay somewhere on Easter weekend for a trip I tried to talk myself into isn’t sounding very smart to me right now, but I’ll still make sure I get to do some driving.
2nd day in a row going into the office and I’m in again tomorrow too. I’m giving a demo of what I’ve been working on to a bunch of state government department CIOs.
Maybe I should just go in every day this week for a laugh.
Took myself out for dinner in Chinatown as part of some self care. It was loud, they took a long time to bring out my food and the internet was barely functional. On a tram heading home now. I did also stop at Breadtop which is also self care don’t judge me.
