This was a really nice tech review! I think she took a sensible approach and didn’t bog it down with advertisements for new features no one cares about.

If you are all in on split keyboards, I would recommend the glove80
In medicine I was taught a number of times that diverse addiction disorders are largely defined one thing: persistence of a behavior despite negative consequences. An addendum is difficulty in cessation of the behavior.
Okay, but what about people who have jobs where you really cannot tolerate a 1 hour wake up window? I hope you can realize you are in a privileged position to be able to have this kind of schedule and that this is really not possible for the vast majority of people.
Yes, a doctor is probably one of the jobs that would be the best understood
What do you mean by facts? How is female defined by you? Because I doubt you genetically test for XX chromosomes before you say female, right?
I think there are plenty of words that can be factual, but also unkind. And that is all that this is about. I would at the very least find it odd if someone used “human specimen” instead of calling me a man, though it is factual. I think trying to use the words that describe people the way they see themselves instead of hanging onto some logical ideal is a normal transition languages make over time and is a kinder way to be.
When I was using Librewolf maybe 4 years ago, it was never up to date with Firefox. I thought it could be a potential security risk, sometimes it took months to incorporate Firefox security updates. Has that improved recently?
You want them to live
I think this is totally reasonable, and a very forward thinking imagining of what the future of the internet could be like. I just thought that the analogy you made in the previous comment was a good one to poke fun at.
I like the idea of being able to run elasticsearch/whatever on a local copy of the full text of all of your bookmarks.
It’s like having your books open, with a mark in the book for the page. A book mark, if you will
The app Buzzkill is good for managing notifications too
I’ve been interested in this, but for work I have to use keyboards connected to random computers all the time (and bringing my own keyboard isn’t an option either). I suppose I’m stuck with QWERTY. I just can’t imagine keeping two keyboard layouts in my muscle memory.
Everyone, you all, y’all
For you, I suggest sticking to Discord. I am of the mind that your effort should be focused on your community instead of enforcing a FOSS philosophy upon a group that may not have any interest in doing so.
If you are creating a new community, this is a different conversation, of course.
I love gritty. I grew up in Seattle and found the whole Kraken logo and team name were just so uninspiring. Especially when the Flyers just went all in on just being cool as hell with Gritty. Fortunately I was already a Canes fan so the boring Kraken thing doesn’t bother me at all
This is great advice. I think the smaller NAS is a prudent investment now, and the more capable server can come later. I think I don’t want to let perfect be the enemy of good and keep me from investing in a local storage solution.
Hey, you’re finally awake
