Yeah, it’s a tent :D Just a corner of it
Did you see the interview from afterwards? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WwUoq6Gdk-g
He’s always been a pretty controversial figure, but I feel like he used to be a bit wittier and more coherent. Definitely seems like he’s gone off the rails the last few years.
Already there! Good suggestions though
Also added Small Planet, which I’d somehow forgotten about :D
Sweet, added! I hadn’t seen Aarn packs before, seems like they make some cool stuff!
I wanted results which would prioritise things like fiordlandpacks.nz, cactusoutdoor.co.nz and southernlitepacks.co.nz. As you can see, it was only partially successful but I feel like it’s still useful.
The source for the filter is https://gist.github.com/fallaciousreasoning/c7d10b8db5449fb62b601ddf111003a3 - let me know if you think there are some NZ based sites I should include.
Just not consistently full - definitely people in them, just not all the time. Only time everything is full is the school holidays…
Oh yeah, the only empty houses are all the AirBnBs (at my weekly rent every night) or lock’n’leaves. Probably 2/3rds of my street is empty most of the time. Rentals can’t be had for love or money, we got lucky with ours at the end of covid.
Hope it’s all good - did mine (pretty mildly) this time last year and it was easily 4 or 5 months before it felt back to normal.
Take it easy!
Presumably this is funded by the $15 they charge me every time I drive up the road :D
In this case, it isn’t the government spending the money though - it’s a lobbying group for the agricultural industry.
Yeah exactly - he made it much easier to take the Greens seriously, and he managed to get a fair bit done. One of my favourite politicians, by far.
Hard to feel too sorry for him :D
We bivy’d out - I got woken up in the night by a Kea pecking my toes. They’re definitely cheekier than Kea in other bits of the country 🤣
Reposted - not sure how to cross post on Lemmy 🤣
(oh, found the button, too late 🤷 )
Its actually not too bad, especially in Summer when the weather is good. I think a lot of the accidents are from Winter, with bad avalanche conditions, or when it’s wet/icey - I know there have been a few skiiers caught out (even when there’s only a little snow). Definitely not anything near a mountaineering route.
Lovely walk though (and great views down the Matukituki)!
Basically, it just caches anything you’ve looked at, and nothing else :)
If you try and zoom in further than it has cached data, it’ll use a lower res version, if it has one.
Try this Brave Search Goggle I made, which searches a bunch of NZ companies and retailers (not all of it is NZ gear, and some of it is made by an NZ company overseas, like Macpac, Kathmandu ect).
Some of the companies I came across when putting it together:
(the full list of NZ sites in the goggle is here)
Sorry, most of it is more outdoor focused than everyday
