falseprophet@fedia.ioOPMto B-side Gaming@fedia.io•Steam's two-hour refund window is not good for niche indie games6·3 days agoThere is probably a lot of bad games and shovelware short games so it is hard to say.
Yes, I agree
CSS is not on it’s own Turing complete from what I understand, it needs HTML and user input. So no it is not a programming language.
If Html and CSS would create only a static website, we would be much more limited in web design. That is not necessary a bad thing because yes I agree web pages can be bloated and slow. But I also think it is because of bad web design practices and not CSS fault.
I do not think they are overloaded, I think people are creative and make games with them despite their limitations. HTML and CSS are definitely not programing languages. But if someone is creative they can create a game without programming.

falseprophet@fedia.ioOPMto B-side Gaming@fedia.io•Steam users surprised with 4 free games for their library, no strings attached6·15 days agoThese articles are often click bait with very click bait headlines, I try sometimes to edit them but I have not always the time. I just wanted to highlight some free games on steam games on steam, that is why I have added direct links in the post.

falseprophet@fedia.ioOPMto B-side Gaming@fedia.io•B-side Gaming web zine #4 (News, Reviews, Fun, Adventure game history part 4, Simple Free Python Game and more.)1·20 days agoThanks, I get what you mean. I used to have everything in the post previously but I run out of space because my content passes the character limit of a post. So I tried this work around post links to an external blog but it’s not ideal solution.
I might do it differently in the future and when I find time I will add some images that will help indicate what the links are about.
I am familiar with the similar weekly posts, it is what partially inspired me to do this but I wanted to take a different approach that resembles more a monthly gaming magazine with a lot of variety in content.
That being said I open to suggestions to changing things, trying out what works the best.

falseprophet@fedia.ioOPMto B-side Gaming@fedia.io•10 Best Indie Games With 100+ Hours of Content3·20 days agoYes. Unfortunately, it is just a list of very popular old games. I was debating if I should post it but thought maybe someone finds something they missed.
falseprophet@fedia.ioOPMto B-side Gaming@fedia.io•B-side Gaming web zine #4 (News, Reviews, Fun, Adventure game history part 4, Simple Free Python Game and more.)2·20 days agoThanks, I understand that having everything together would be better, I think so too looking at the post it seems very plain in comparison with having everything together. So I am not sure what the solution is. Maybe split the post into post or mixing it up.
Having it on write.as gives me also the additional option to see what parts have more views which is helpful for to see what interests people more. And I am curious to see for example if there is any interest in the python mini games or if I am wasting my time time with these.
I could try to make a poll and see what interests the readers more but the last time I did a poll it got only 4 votes with result split 50/50 so it didn’t help me at all.
Anyway I leave like that for now and I will decide on the next one what to do.

Maybe this review will help you for the Nintendo Switch version. https://witchsreviewcorner.com/2024/08/21/mika-and-the-witchs-mountain-review-switch/
Didn’t expect this to be so popular game. I picked almost randomly based on the screenshots on itch.io. I have not played it myself but now I want to try it out.

There are now 141 subscribers. I keep posting regularly indie game news or links to games directly that seem to be interesting. Agent_Karyo helps a lot with posting on the community. Last Sunday I posted the third issue of the web zine, which is basically a mega-post with a collection of news, articles, top 10s, and more done in the style resembling an old gaming computer magazine.
maybe he has not found the right one to click with him
No there is not really much of simulation in the game, you just casually put items on the map.
Thank you
Yeah maybe. I already reworked the news section, not sure if the changes have federated yet. I want it to be a good reading experience. :)
Yeah could be just speculation. I mean I am sure that some people are abusing the return policy but I am not sure if it is enough to hurt indie game. I agree more data would help.
