Was there any truth in the exploding mic theory?

Why is it so blurry. I had to go find my glasses to only realise I’m already wearing them

Technology@lemmy.world•Amazon sued over Ring facial recognition featureEnglish
9·8 days agoWhy has Amazon been single out when loads of doorbells do face recognition? The description of the feature in the article sounds exactly how Google do it.
Last fall, Amazon launched a new “Familiar Faces” feature inside Ring doorbells. Utilizing AI, Familiar Faces scans and identifies visitors to a Ring owner’s home. When Familiar Faces recognizes a regular visitor — whether it’s a family member, mailman, or delivery driver — Ring can tell users who is at their door instead of providing a generic notification.

Automation and Factory Builder Games@lemmy.zip•Factorio's next major update will also be its last, as its developer announces it has 'reached a good place to conclude active gameplay development'English
33·11 days agoI think it’s a good time to slow down. With mod support, the game will live on without major updates from the dev.
Also the game was starting to become like Terraria. I’d play the game once a year or so and each time there has been a major overhaul of once-understood systems.

6·11 days agoI don’t think he is a loser as much as we’d hope. He won the election. What he does as president I don’t think is the important part for him. All the side deals, grifting, family members and friends receiving gvt contracts and insider trading is what is really being focused on. Him being in the position has given him ludicrous opportunities. He is winning regardless of public opinion.
Now if criminal charges were brought that stripped him not only of his title but also the ill gotten gains, then he would be a loser. But the current track is that he leaves office at some point with billions in the bank.
