Oy vey! :D
Fast, cheap, and good. Clients expect all three of those qualities, if they are even able to accurately describe what they want in the first place. Usually at best you can have two.
Just by knowing something was created by AI makes it repelling to me. That’s not to say it can’t generate interesting material, but I so wish this technology didn’t exist in the first place. But, it’s here to stay, and refusing to adapt to it entirely it may not be in our best interest in the long run. It’s possible I have enjoyed content without knowing it was AI-generated too; it’s not always obvious. Not everything made by humans is good either, although I respect the effort the creators put into it. Luckily there is an extensive catalogue of reputable human-made literature and art to choose from that goes back centuries :)
My doors are made of MDF with aluminium frames. They were more expensive than the low quality wood doors offered here, but they are sturdy and lasted well over the years.
Good luck with your renovations!
An e-reader! For a long time I was one of those people who insisted they would never substitute physical books for electronic ones, but I came to realize how convenient they are. I can have thousands of books saved in one place, highlight words I don’t understand without defacing the book, and the screen is much easier on my eyes than other mobile devices. I’ve been reading a lot more as an adult since I bought my e-reader :)
I get that it’s a meme, but “scapegoat” would be a better comparison than “Jesus”, as there is nothing holy about that whole situation.
A few things to consider:
How your decision to sell content will affect your future relationships and job opportunities.
How will selling content affect your well-being? You might face criticism, disrespect, entitlement, body-shaming, doxing, having your content spread without your consent. Would you be able to handle that?
Like others have said, it’s an over saturated market. Most sellers aren’t making enough to cover even essential expenses. If you are set on doing this, you need to establish boundaries and find a way to market yourself, which can feel like a full time job in itself.
Be safe, and I hope you find a better job opportunity soon.
I don’t think I would initiate contact with my biological parents in this hypothetical situation regardless of their financial status, but I would be willing to meet with them if they requested it first. I can’t miss what I never had and I don’t want to possibly disrupt their lives because of my own curiosity. Nor do I feel entitled to their money.
Not fitting in with an existing group is a risk you take no matter which method of seeking friendship you use. Trying out new activities is always a good idea though.
Join a hobby group or club for activities you’re actually interested in. It could be anything: sports, board games, video games. That way you already have a common interest with the others, and you feel less pressure to make friends because you can still spend your time doing what you enjoy.
I’m going to try reading a book in my target language and look up/write down definitions of unfamiliar words. Although I miss the convenience language learning apps offered, I felt like the courses weren’t paced well and that I was stagnating. It would be helpful to have someone to practice with in person but right now it’s not an option.
How’s it going for you?
I’ve always found it better to let online friendships form organically based on shared interests rather than seeking them out. With the second method, there’s a good chance you and the other person won’t have much in common besides wanting to make friends, and the conversation will taper off on its own.
I hope your new chat leads to a strong, lasting friendship :)
The average Lemmy user seems rather tech savvy. I assumed it would be something to bond over.
That’s a cool hobby :) what motivated you to start a homelab?
So eloquent.
It reminds me of this collection of analogies in students’ writing.
If you are not looking to pay for their content anyway, why not just view what they post on Reddit for free themselves? I’m sure if you search, you can easily find subreddits dedicated to average bodies and most niches you are interested in.
Vinegar, baking soda, and lemon juice all make good cleaning agents.
It’s also good for stain removal and cleaning eyeglasses :D
Maybe not completely obsolete, but landline phones and fax machines.
I rarely see anyone using mp3 players anymore :(
I liked your song, both the melody and the clean sound of it. I think you definitely have potential and your music could appeal to a wide audience. Keep doing what you love! :)
