Luckily my boss does encourage us to take care of our health including taking breaks from screen time (those 10 minutes every two hours as proposed by doctors), which are not added to our break time. He also knows I don’t take such breaks often enough which actually causes my stress level to be too high. Smokers do have some advantages regarding this I guess.

I need to clear my head from time to time during work to be able to focus again. The cats are a welcomed and welcoming distraction :-)

The vet said 30 seconds to a minute. I just estimate the minute but nothing about still attached inhaler. Why do you need to keep the inhaler on? The spray is already in the chamber, isn’t it? It seems to be working really well this way, so I just don’t leave it on.

What’s the purpose of the steroids? I can basically give her everything as long as it can be grinded and mixed with that paste.

The only crime she commits from time to time is to hop on the counter (strictly forbidden of course) to fetch the sponge and tear it to shreds, which made me buy sponges with one scratchy side and one fat removal side as she only shreds the yellow side. Otherwise, she really is an angel. I can even let her into the garden mostly unsupervised (only with a tracker and from time to time looking out the window) and she won’t leave the premises.

Guess that’ one differentiation where to draw the line. Unfortunately however I’ve seen with my own eyes a cat eating another cat’s vomit, so…

Not sure who is who as their colouring changed a lot while growing up. My guess is that Miez is the one looking at the camera.

On reddit my cats were well liked, too (r/KodaAndTheKitties, cleared out now). In my old apartment I dad a bunch more cat trees and such. E.g. a neighbour was floor layer and he gave me cardbox rolls up to 4m long. I made two of them black using duct tape, put some of the black Sisal around them (not fully though) and hung them as little walkways in my corridor plus had custom built some cat furniture (boxes with doors in front for food below and as cozy places above):

Oh that she is. Back in the day, when she wanted a door opened she would meow for her brother to come open it, which never failed.

That’s not a backpack, it’s basically a foldable bag with zippers on all edges, wheels and an expandable rod so it can easily be pulled like a suitecase. It is her second home when we’re sleeping somewhere else. In my apartment though she is rarely in it, but definitely doesn’t hate it.

They ended up fighting all the time. Seems like this can happen a lot at the age of 7/8, as females become calmer but males stay active. She was annoyed by him. Didn’t help that she became asthmatic, so she couldn’t keep up in play fights at all (also because he’s larger then her). Miez was stressed out all the time. I took in Lilly as a playmate for him, but then the both of them still stressed out Miez. Luckily I found a new home for Koda and Lilly with a friend’s family. I know they are in good hands there and I visit them from time to time, as well as sit them during my mate’s vacation (Miez then stays with my parents as she gets along with my mother’s cat Franka). In bavaria they made exactly this. You have a “Vorzugsgebiet” (loosely translated area of favourited power accumulation) for either wind or solar. Some people then had the outrageous idea of setting up a wind turbine in the middle of a solar park. Guess what happened? It wasn’t approved because it was only allowed to build a solar park there. You can’t make this stuff up. That’s German bureaucracy for you.

Fun fact: I actually walked them a few times. Maine Coon is known for the dog-like behaviours. With Miez it’s easy: as long as there’s a narrow footpath she just walks and walks, rarely stopping to sniff at some plants. Her brother on the other hand wants to sniff everything. So I attached their leashes together and she’d pull him along. Unfortunately that was only possible if I drove them somewhere, which isn’t practical at all and they don’t enjoy the ride, so I stopped after a few tries.
