Its just replacing closed systems with more closed systems.

I’m watching closely.

Not directly relevant but I just discovered CachyOS for my AYN Loki and it’s pretty fuckin awesome. I hope we retain some non-immutable options for those of us who want to heavily customize our experiences with these devices. It was hard to find something I could just run syncthing and some standalone emulators on. I don’t want valve and libretro in complete control of what I do and do not do on my handheld linux or not - and it could very easily go that way with the popularity of immutable distros. Maybe I’m just paranoid. I dont know.

I self host every fediverse thing I can and when I open it I know its mine and I can glance over at the machine running it all and see where it all is and that feels good enough to deal with whatever comes up. That said, these days its all pretty easy.
Emacs is fucking awesome but I won’t get anything done once I fall in. I get more done in Vim.
Like the guy in the truck gives a shit about the difference.

So glad I saw this post I’ve had an 8th gen kindle jammed under a pile of bullshit for quite a while because fuck bezos. Ended up being able to use winter break and now I can use the device without contributing to fascism. Today was a good day!

Thank you kindly

Book repos? I didn’t know such a thing existed. Can you share more?

Man this is some fuckin excellent news

If anyone wants a transparent PNG, here it is.

Yep no issues for me smooth sailing.
You’re welcome took me forever to find glad I can share!
Probably the only correct answer.
All of my federated stuff has run smoothly with that kinda stuff but I don’t think picsur is fed? Is it? 👀 If it is I gotta check that out lol. Mine is isolated. Just use it to dump photos and get quick links
If anyone wants to selfhost their own replacement I just spun up picsur a couple months ago and highly recommend it. Dead simple and lightweight.
Why is the owl flying across the Atlantic?

Indeed, seems the only path forward. Thansk for sharing.
Yes its quite nice!
