The hardware for those mods costs as much, if not more, than the entire controller from Nintendo.
2.4 GHz is complete overkill for old games that used to poll the controller 60 times a second anyway. On top of that, it always requires an adapter, which can be inconvenient on the go. Even if they built it in on the Switch, I don’t care, I mostly use the retro controllers on the Steam Deck.
Those controllers have been improved upon, true, but they are what those old games were designed for. The N64 controller especially is annoying to replicate with modern controllers.
Console exclusives are bad, but consoles in themselves are a useful part of the industry. They provide a hassle-free experience for players, and a stable target for game developers. They’ve used their position to be parasites, that’s true, but they don’t have to be to survive.
It’s a good starting hypothesis. Maybe it won’t hold out, but you’ve got to start somewhere, and it’s a pretty safe assumption.
Reject lame government tracked cars, embrace true freedom with bikes 😎 no registration, no tracking.
Disabling JavaScript is pretty easy, use NoScript ! Then you can selectively allow just a few scripts, plus it’s fun to find out how few you can let run on each page.
They used to sell DVDs of their series
The answer is simple : I don’t play DnD. Mostly Naheulbeuk (where the fights are hilarious so I don’t mind) and call of Cthulhu (where fighting often just kills you immediately anyway)
I’m sure there will be second hand ones soon enough
Oh i don’t have one 😆 but it sure seems useful to open some doors you’re not supposed to !
It is the fancy toy version though. There are cheaper devices that do some of the same things, although I’m not sure I’ve seen anything else with all the features yet.
May I interest you in a Flipper Zero ? 😉
Someone just re-discovered that brand recognition is important.
Now maybe they’ll eventually also realize that people would rather own than rent… but, baby steps, I suppose…
That slogan is whack though. I suggest “Go fasc, go crash !” instead. (Pronounced “go fash”, as in “fascist”)
I disagree with that, they do both good and bad things right now.
Re-making their retro controllers with Bluetooth is phenomenal. I absolutely love them, I’ve bought every single one (and I will eventually replace the joysticks. That’s an industry problem, not a Nintendo problem)
But renting retro games ? Fuck that. 90€ Mario kart ? Fuck that too ! And the switch 2 price is ridiculous. I’ll stay on Switch 1 and steam deck until there is a significant drop.
I paid Nintendo 70€ once for their Bluetooth N64 controller, and I emulate the games.
I would buy the games if they offered, but I refuse to rent them.
But I can make my own thanks to the absence of DRM. I’ll be able to play my personal copy offline in 15 years.
I don’t know how to comment an image but mine is somehow EVEN WORSE 😭
I am. I just mostly buy my games on GOG.
Think about nothing, but really fast !
There’s probably room to make it snappier, have fun !
Good idea, but it’s too little too late. The problem isn’t just births, young people are also leaving Japan in droves.
