@weirdsquid @Zerlyna We all know you’re going to 😂

@clockwork_octopus You had me at “gross”! Acrylic does seem to be the consensus it seems, gonna go look up reviews of my locally available ones and see which ones are considered reliable. Thanks!
@khzimmer2 @knitting Thank you! Cotton was my first thought too but I did worry about longevity, might be worth doing some research there and see if it’s a solved problem.
Hmm, this baby stuff is a whole new world to me can you tell? 😆
@Peppycito LOL! This is a nightmarish fever dream, wtf. Apologies for bringing up such a traumatising memory 😅
@bananasmug @zaphod You’re not alone I totally googled that too 😅
@kurobita Note how it didn’t actually put any of us off though! Totes worth it 😄
I completely expected the same from the title, of course in that case the answer would be obvious. Cast on something new, of course! 😀
@innervisioner @knitting Thanks! It’s actually a free pattern called “Double Eyelet Rib Toe-up Socks” by Wendy D. Johnson that seems to have been discontinued since I knitted it the first time!
They do look fairly similar. Only so many different things you can do with basic eyelet lace, I guess 😀
@utopify_org @ConfusedOrder I do wish we could get the full text, it’s weird that comments show up fine but the OP is always just a link. Maybe one day I’ll learn enough about how Lemmy works to put in a pull request, but it is not this day!
@ConfusedOrder @utopify_org Hah, I stumbled across this convo on Mastodon side and can see the issue. Basically for whatever reason, the original post is missing from this thread when viewed in Mastodon. Hence the confusion!
Your top-level comment looks like it’s a standalone post rather than a reply, because the OP isn’t there. But it looks different to all the other “posts”, because it’s not one!
Isn’t techology fun 😂
@magslhalliday @knitting Oh no! I used to live in fear of something like this with DPNs and had visions of dropping them and having them roll down the whole bus. Big part of the reason I learned to just do everything magic loop instead! 😅
Bet you looked really pro recovering from that misstep though.
@Speckle Great minds! We’re off on a cruise with the husband’s family, should be fun, I have packed all my sewn skirts and crochet tops and etc 😎
@meggied90 Thanks, I did! Tried to find the tutorial to link you but I’m no good at searching from my phone 🙈 The cactus fabric was scraps from a dress I made so it’s a whole matching outfit and accessory haha
@KarenStrickholm @knitting It’s all just fun with yarn! 😄
@kurobita Worst part is I literally have a swift and winder, but convinced myself it would be ok to do this one by hand to avoid making noise while watching TV 😅
@gina Almost all done, now! I think it’s relaxing because it takes my mind off other things and puts my concentration onto something ultimately inconsequential.
Excited for the yarn though, it was hand dyed as a gift so been looking forward to using it!
@QTpi @weirdsquid Not even gonna click through from Mastodon to reply to this, I’m just gonna say SHOW US YOUR CURSED SCARF 😂
