Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you also feel fuller if you drop onions or leeks in your stews?
12·17 days agoGinger and cinnamon, as well as garlic for some people, accelerate your metabolism. You feel like you have more energy, no matter what you eat. And you burn more energy just sitting down doing nothing (faster metabolism) but also because you get more active.
It’s kind of but not exactly like coffee, chocolate and chilli, but also these have an effect much much shorter. In my case, they last a couple hours, while ginger and garlic give me a boost of a couple days.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How are you going to distinguish truth from AI, deepfakes, or just lies?
1·19 days agoEhhhh I don’t trust ny times if there’s anything related to Gaza or Israel.
It just shows that newspapers were manipulative since the beginning, although it’s generally true that they still don’t openly lie to you (the traditional ones) and prefer to bend the truth to unbelievable points.

Just Post@lemmy.world•Why The Smartest People I Know Set Constraints, Not Goals
41·23 days agoNot a fan of this video at all.
It’s a collection of limitations that successful projects had. Most projects get less than a minute.
I would find it more believable if it also had case studies for the same projects and its unique environment strengths ( I don’t know, like Steve Jobs being “a genius” - which I don’t agree - and George Lucas and Dr Seuss having their own unique qualities). There’s certainly plenty of books like this, people love about personal successes. 🤢
And other projects that had either the same constraints but stronger, or same constraints but weaker, and failed. Also probably a different book, but no one would buy this.
It’s like one guy said, like Taylor Swift telling people to follow their dreams is akin to a lottery winner saying to put all your savings into lottery tickets. That’s what this video makes me feel.

Oh wow I didn’t know you could plant cacao trees there.
