    Even then, however, the trial is unlikely to conclude, as Google plans to appeal. In August, Mozilla’s spokesperson told Ars that the trial could drag on for years before any remedies are put in place.

    In the meantime, Google plans to continue focusing on building out its search empire, Google’s president of global affairs, Kent Walker, said in August. This presumably includes innovations in AI search that the DOJ fears may further entrench Google’s dominant position.

    tl;dr: Nothing will happen.

      Something may happen depending on 1) Harris winning and 2) Harris not being cowed by Wallstreet.

      If she sticks with Khan and gets someone more activist in Garland’s place then we might see some action… Garland is, however, a corporate stooge to rival Gorsuch - he’s better on other issues but he’s terrible when it comes to personal vs. corporate rights.

      Yes, I seem to recall hearing this story like 5 years ago. So much lip service.

      Same as Congress no longer trading in the markets with their insider information. Often proposed and talked about, never implemented.
