Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) says sheā€™s scrapping any more romantic outings after getting booted out of a ā€œBeetlejuiceā€ performance, exclaiming, ā€œAll future date nights have been canceled.ā€

The Colorado Republican, along with a male companion, was escorted out of a Denver theater last week for vaping, singing and ā€œcausing a disturbanceā€ during a performance of ā€œBeetlejuice.ā€ The incident was first reported by The Denver Post.

A Boebert spokesperson initially denied that the lawmaker had been vaping, before video surfaced showing her doing so at the theater.

ā€œItā€™s always hard whenever thereā€™s gravity put on the voters. Iā€™m here to provide levity, and lift burdens off of people,ā€ Boebert said in an interview with TMZ on Monday. ā€œSo anytime that theyā€™re carrying mine, itā€™s something that you kind of feel deep inside.ā€

ā€œBut ultimately, all future date nights have been canceled. And I learned to check party affiliations before you go on a date,ā€ Boebert ā€” who filed for divorce from her husband in May ā€” quipped, an apparent reference to reports that her date at the ā€œBeetlejuiceā€ performance is a Democrat.

Asked if her dating life with the man was ā€œover,ā€ the 36-year-old congresswoman replied, ā€œWeā€™ve peacefully parted at this time. Great man, great friend. And I wish him all the best.ā€

ā€œAll in all, it was mostly a lovely time and Iā€™ve taken responsibility for my actions,ā€ Boebert said of the controversial incident, which her Democratic challenger, Adam Frisch, slammed as ā€œanother notch in the belt of embarrassment.ā€

ā€œThereā€™s a lot of folks who are certainly understanding, and they understand it was part of my personal life, my private time,ā€ Boebert said. ā€œSomething I really indulge in.ā€

Maybe for her and her date, shame they had to ruin the evening for so many other people. For people who claim to be about protecting people from things they donā€™t accidentally want to experience - drag queens, pot, same-sex or different-race people in a relationship - they sure donā€™t seem to understand actual ā€œconsentā€. Which, yā€™know, apparently involves everyone around them.

and Iā€™ve taken responsibility for my actions.

Really? Cause thatā€™s not exactly what Iā€™ve been seeing here.
