Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) says sheā€™s scrapping any more romantic outings after getting booted out of a ā€œBeetlejuiceā€ performance, exclaiming, ā€œAll future date nights have been canceled.ā€

The Colorado Republican, along with a male companion, was escorted out of a Denver theater last week for vaping, singing and ā€œcausing a disturbanceā€ during a performance of ā€œBeetlejuice.ā€ The incident was first reported by The Denver Post.

A Boebert spokesperson initially denied that the lawmaker had been vaping, before video surfaced showing her doing so at the theater.

ā€œItā€™s always hard whenever thereā€™s gravity put on the voters. Iā€™m here to provide levity, and lift burdens off of people,ā€ Boebert said in an interview with TMZ on Monday. ā€œSo anytime that theyā€™re carrying mine, itā€™s something that you kind of feel deep inside.ā€

ā€œBut ultimately, all future date nights have been canceled. And I learned to check party affiliations before you go on a date,ā€ Boebert ā€” who filed for divorce from her husband in May ā€” quipped, an apparent reference to reports that her date at the ā€œBeetlejuiceā€ performance is a Democrat.

Asked if her dating life with the man was ā€œover,ā€ the 36-year-old congresswoman replied, ā€œWeā€™ve peacefully parted at this time. Great man, great friend. And I wish him all the best.ā€

ā€œAll in all, it was mostly a lovely time and Iā€™ve taken responsibility for my actions,ā€ Boebert said of the controversial incident, which her Democratic challenger, Adam Frisch, slammed as ā€œanother notch in the belt of embarrassment.ā€

ā€œThereā€™s a lot of folks who are certainly understanding, and they understand it was part of my personal life, my private time,ā€ Boebert said. ā€œSomething I really indulge in.ā€

So justā€¦ not gonna mention having her tits out being fondled, and jerking a dude off in public around children then, captured live on security camerasā€¦?

Huh. Weird how that justā€¦ didnt get mentionedā€¦

Iā€™ve taken responsibility for my actions

I must have missed the part where she took responsibility - anybody able to point it out?

Itā€™s very frustrating that it seems to be a standard response when someone is caught doing something wrong that they are taking responsibility for their actions but what it really means is that youā€™re not supposed to talk about it or hold it against them or even hold them accountable since they already said they are ā€œtaking responsibilityā€ for what they did. There is rarely, if ever, even an apology. Sounds like the opposite of taking responsibility to meā€¦

All in all, it was mostly a lovely time

Maybe for her and her date, shame they had to ruin the evening for so many other people. For people who claim to be about protecting people from things they donā€™t accidentally want to experience - drag queens, pot, same-sex or different-race people in a relationship - they sure donā€™t seem to understand actual ā€œconsentā€. Which, yā€™know, apparently involves everyone around them.

and Iā€™ve taken responsibility for my actions.

Really? Cause thatā€™s not exactly what Iā€™ve been seeing here.

It wouldnā€™t have anything to do with the fact that now everyone knows that for months sheā€™s been dating a Democrat who owns a bar thatā€™s hosted drag shows?

Some tend to hypocrisy and say something and then do something else. And if it makes moneyā€¦ they can turn a blind eye. So not that crazy but yeah in theory it wouldnā€™t make sense.

Sheā€™s trying to make it sound like this happened because she was on a date with a Democrat. Itā€™d be funny if her dumb ass base didnt lap it up.

    Iā€™m here to provide levity

She makes much more sense when you know thatā€™s what she thinks a US representativeā€™s job is

I mean, folks really are laughing at her (when theyā€™re not weeping at the quality of representation) soā€¦kinda levity? Just not the kind sheā€™s thinking of maybe.
