I need to set up a video conference for about 30 people for 2 hours. I would use zoom or ms teams, but Zoom limits me to 45mins; ms teams, as far as I understood, limits me to 1 hour.
What is the best and the simplest way to do this (and it must be a reliable option with web access)?
Ps: there is no need to be foss or super private or encrypted.
I use jitsi all the time. The link should work. It works really well. No one needs to install anything. Just a regular browser. Although I’ve had mixed results using Firefox but Chrome and Edge work really well. It also has a mobile app if you are so inclined.
cool, then you probably can clarify me how it assumed to be used to organize a meeting. What I see now, looks the following way
Moreover, if on step 1 I enter already existing meeting name, there will be no error message I simply try to jump-in in existing meeting (without knowing this).
Does it really work like that?
Yes. If you guess the meeting name of another meeting AND there is no password or lobby set then yes. You will crash their party. If you add a password and lobby then only people you know (or the admin) can allow access. I am unsure on how long the meting rooms last, but setting one up is really quick. The only person who needs credentials to join is the creator. Also unsure on how to pass along the admin role to another but I am guessing it should not be that difficult. I will try later.
Good luck!
Thank you.
I add a lobby and a password, so random person cannot join - fine.
But still, I invite people and give this password. So, the first who come to to meeting (5 mins before start, 1 hour before start 1 day before start) automatically becomes admin of it. This is probably ok for a 3 friends meeting, but hardly usable for school parents or a hobby club meetings.
