Imperial Russia was actual chill with the US. But was not so friendly with the British empire.

It knew it couldn’t keep Alaska so may as well sell it to the Yankees before the British take it by force.

Lichtenstein also offered to buy it but that deal didn’t go through.

I dunno. Sometimes I get the feeling they’d secede and join us if we asked. Hawaii too, if PR or Samoa came first.

I mean, Alaska had a Basic Income scheme. It’s surprisingly progressive given our own impression of our own snowy North.

Sticking with the conservative friend is always a waste of time unless you’re planning on becoming conservative too.

Man I’m not gloating until 2035 at the earliest.

We might implode in the same embarrassing way in the elections after Carney wins because I see it the same as the USA with the same indoctrination and media empires. If cons win, that’s it now. I don’t think they’re gonna deescalate any time soon and change their ways.

“Gotten super conservative” is underselling it a bit.

It’s more like that neighbour that had all kinds of problems has suddenly flipped out. They locked one of the kids in the shed, and it sounds like the kid is still trapped there. They took the doors off the other kids’ rooms so that they had no privacy because the Internet told them kids are dressing up as furries and peeing in kitty litter. They’ve stopped paying their bills and chased a meter reader off with a shotgun. They’ve started trying to rip the copper out of the walls to sell it online.

You’d call the cops on them, but the neighbour is a cop, so there’s not much you can do. That’s why you had to choose your words carefully when the neighbour dropped by with a gun on his hip saying the property line was drawn wrong and your house was actually on their property: and you could see that the new property line was just drawn in with a sharpie.

more like the brother that has been influencing your other brother and dad and truth be told is messing a bit with your head.

At least seeing their friend take that turn made them start to rethink the whole plan of putting Tories in government. Minus Ford I guess.

I used to be friends with the guy next door. Now I have a gun in hand, and if he comes over, I’ll have to shoot him.

    Time for new friends.

I think the poster is trying to paint the picture of America being the neighbor and “coming over” as an invasion.

Still illegal, until this hypothetical invasion happens. Which I don’t see happening. What I do see is that the orange guy is causing a recession.

Wanting to defend myself from a potential invader is American? Lol. That desire to fight for what one loves is literally why your bloodline exists. Be grateful for it.

You can callously disregard this threat to our sovereignty, but I’ll never be so naive again.

You assumptions about age and race have nothing to do with anything unless you are searching for a reason to discriminate. You don’t have to answer how close I am, because I nailed it.

I’m also blocking you, because wow what a waste of time you have been.
