If you don’t know where to start with Deus Ex Randomizer, maybe this meme can help you!
If you’ve never played Deus Ex before at all, you can start with Zero Rando or Zero Rando Plus (the Plus variant adds some balance changes but still no randomization). Otherwise you can start with Rando Lite, Rando Medium, or if you’re brave then Normal Randomizer.
Serious Rando is a new addition in v3.6, this game mode has goals rando enabled but without the silly locations. It also disables memes by default.
v3.6 also added the new WaltonWare Hardcore mode, which disables saving the game (perma death) and removes healing. See how far you can get!

What’s the randomizer concept? I’ve played the OG Deus Ex many times, both back in the day and more recently with one of the balance and AI improvement mods.
ah I should’ve put a link to the trailer video in the OP https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLZIQTa_kwZhBksj7UzcahPiRaHk87fWch&v=V3mTcG6xeq4
Basically it shuffles things around the map, and randomizes stats. It makes every playthrough unique, makes you think on your feet, and improvise more.
Will have to check this out, hopefully it’s not too random where you become soft-locked.
We treat soft-locks as bugs, we haven’t seen them in a long time.
Nanokeys and Datacubes are guaranteed to be placed in spots where they can be reached. Goal locations are a manual list of spots not algorithmically generated.
I see. Cheers.
