“Living next to you is in some ways like sleeping with an elephant. No matter how friendly and even-tempered is the beast, if I can call it that, one is affected by every twitch and grunt.”

lol, it’s so good. I took a shot at Trump’s tariffs and how he’s driving me as a Canadian insane and someone was like, why don’t you pay attention to some other countries politics instead? like some other commonwealth country?

It’s like, why the fuck do you think …?

The fact gets especially painful when you realise that the people telling you to “stay out of ‘their’ business” are much less informed about things than you are, and genuinely will not take anything other than your silence for an answer.

You can manipulate people yourself easily. Just tell them what they want to hear, and they will think you’re a great person.

It’s that simple. Most people are putty if you flatter their ego and tell them how smart and insightful they are.

Nah, it’s more like very slow organ failure. Though instead of pain in a hospital bed, you’re just seeing headlines about parts of your brain being phased out, your immune system used to destroy microbiomes while nutrients are openly sent to cancerous tumors. Glasses smashed, ACL re-torn on-purpose after a successful surgery and 2/3rds of physical therapy already done.

Also for something more comical… imagine Trump as Zim in Operation Impending Doom 1.

      transcription of low-resolution video

Tallest Red: “The signing is over, Zim”

Zim: “But you can’t have an invasion without me! I was in operation impending doom 1! Don’t you remember?”

Tallest Purple: “Oh yes, we remember…”

<Flashback of giant mech destroying Irken city, panning into Zim at the helm laughing maniacally>

Mech operator 1: “But sir, we’re… still on our own planet!”

Zim: "Silence! Twist those knobs, twist those knobs! You! Pull some levers. Pull some levers!

<Zim manically laughs as destruction continues until flashback ends, cutting to Zim smiling awkwardly>

Zim: “I put the fires out.”

Tallest Red: “You made them worse!

      Zim: “Wooorse? …or better?”

      <both Tallest groan>

At this point the people complaining about pizzacake are significantly worse than pizzacake.

Which isn’t saying much because I still can’t figure out why ya’ll hate her so much.

The key word there is probably “her”. I’ve noticed this rather significant pattern in who Lemmy decides to hate and who they don’t decide to hate.

        because she’s bland and boring.

the mcdonalds of webcomics. all her takes are are as original and interesting as a shitty hamburger and shitty fries.

and don’t mistake annoyance at her ubiquity and re-posts as hate.

If you don’t like a comic and somebody posts it just keep quiet and move on. Be an adult.

                This. This right here.

People have to learn that there are two categories of thought:

                1. Thoughts that are insightful and/or helpful which should be expressed.
                2. Thoughts that really don’t add anything useful to a conversation and really should not be expressed.

Further they should learn that the overwhelming majority of thoughts are of the second category.
