    It barely rained once… overnight… in SoCal. That is excessive, as it usually does not rain at all until after the winter solstice.

    2025, Central Valley got just one storm all October. Yes, It was a gully washer. But everything is already dry. To hamper fire season must ask for continuous moisture (the ground must remain damp) until spring.

    When the Santa Anas blow, all bets are off. Some firebird will get that ugly tickle and head upwind to throw a spark and fuel their immortality. Fire blasted with high winds quickly drys and burns whatever comes in it’s path. The only change coming when the winds die down. Precipitation, this time of year, just adds to fuel for the summer fire season.
