Hey all! I’m watching LA Kings play in a few days and I want to watch some old matches online so I can get used to how the matches play out. What are some good ones I can watch online?

    Canada vs Russia 1972 Summit series. Here’s an article from CBC about it. There’s a documentary about it linked in there too.

    Edit: I’m a Habs fan so I’d say try to check out some of theirs. Sorry for a Reddit link but here’s a post with a bunch of classic games of theirs.

    First, enjoy yourself! The Kings are a fun team with some old veterans (Kopitar, Doughty) some young up and comers (Byfield, Clark) and some groovy talent (Kempe, Fiala)

    One rule some folks don’t know about until it’s too late, if you bring a hat and someone scores three goals, you “have” to throw your hat on the ice for them (it’s a hat trick.)

    The NHL has pretty good 10 minute hihhlight replays on their website for every game, they’re also on youtube.

    Sorry if you already know this, but I recommend watching something about Wayne Gretzky if you haven’t.

    He retired over 25 years ago but is still the greatest hockey player of all time. He played for the Kings from 1988-1996 and there’s a statue of him at crypto.com arena!

    His trade from the Edmonton Oilers to the Kings was legendary. He put Southern California hockey on the map pretty much overnight.

    Game-wise, Here is 11 minutes of 1993 game highlights where he scores a hat trick, and there’s a 45-minute 1993 highlight video here.

    As an aside, I love their black jerseys!

          I really hope I sit next to someone like you! I’d love someone who’d share their knowledge it’d help me enjoy it even more. Although I’ll love it anyway it’s a great game and the atmosphere looks amazing

            I’m not sure if you updated elsewhere, but did you like it?

            Was it as confusing as you’d feared? It’s a truly odd sport if you think about it, especially in Southern California!

              I just got back now! I LOVED it, I didn’t take my eyes off the ice for a second when they were playing. I’ll do a post about it when I’m settled. 10/10 greatest game ever created
