    A ​software update ​will ⁠be run on the vehicles brought in, the high ​voltage battery will be ​inspected ⁠and if needed, individual modules of the battery will be replaced, the notices ⁠said.

      Changing BMS settings doesn’t fix the problem with bad cells and bad modules. It just pushes failure past the warranty term.

      It’s an expensive fix which is why VW Group prefers the customer pay for VW quality control problems when VW is no longer legally obligated to do so.

        That’s all corporations, not just VW. Virtually none, especially their size, are going to willingly eat the cost of a supplier quality control issue.
