On March 11, President Trump took a tour of a manufacturing facility in Reading, Ohio, owned by Thermo Fisher Scientific, a medical supply company. During the tour, Trump lavished praise on Thermo Fisher which uses the facility to manufacture prescription drugs on a contract basis. “It’s a great honor being here. It’s a great company,” Trump said, appearing alongside CEO Marc Casper. “You have done a fantastic job and I’d like to congratulate you.”

Later, Trump asked another Thermo Fisher executive to share “some great information about this incredible company.” The executive talked about how Thermo Fisher is producing drugs for Merck and others at the facility. Trump then explicitly encouraged other pharmaceutical companies to contract with Thermo Fisher to “on-shore” more jobs. He claimed that some pharmaceutical companies were building their own US manufacturing facilities but said “they can get here a lot faster by using this great company.”

Trump did not mention that, the same day of the tour, March 11, he purchased between $15,000 and $50,000 of Thermo Fisher stock. (Federal disclosure rules only require filers to list their transactions in broad ranges.) Trump did not publicly disclose the purchase until May 14. It was listed on page 38 of a 113-page document cataloging Trump’s stock purchases in 2026.

I’m beginning to think I should just remove these for trolling. I will give you a chance in one comment to explain what Americans should do and what utopia country do you live in where the citizens have control over their government that is currently rigged against them?

Considering they had the president backing the insurrection. Thats the only reason they got ‘close’. You can bet your ass if an insurrection was opposing the current admin, the national guard would be fully deployed before you even arrived.

Not OP but in general people take it to the streets, not on weekends but during work hours so there is an economic disruption the government is forced to pay attention to.

In lieu of that, any economic disruption would work, literally simply cancelling services that are not needed (streaming services for example) and/or cancelling accounts with any of the tech bros.

It’s been 17 months and the only thing Americans can claim to have done is 2 weekend protests, one of which Trump literally posted a video of himself shitting on protesters. In the meantime, literally thousands of people have been slaughtered due to the actions of your government. Sorry for being unable to accept the “Americans are the REAL victims” take you seem to have fully adopted

Canada… and just by not buying American booze and reducing trips to the USA we have generated more pressure than Americans being 10 times our population… so it’s really hard for me to buy the notion of the caring but hapless American

Wow, you have the far right invading and trying to take away your free healthcare. I appreciate you putting pressure on is, but wtf are we actually supposed to do?

Republicans have been trying to assassinate him for awhile now. Corporations kiss his ass. Republicans run every part of the government and are setting up so they can cheat and do that in the future. Tell me oh wise one, wtf are we supposed to do?

wtf are we actually supposed to do?

I already told you… boycott as many corps as possible, disrupt economic activity in any way you can, deny your data to all big tech, etc

the issue here is that you all seem to want a free, easy, immediately effective solution to a problem decades in the making

wtf are you to do? something, anything would be better than pretending to be hapless
