Speed Zone. It has John Candy and Eugene Levy in it… and a red Lamborghini skipping across a pond like a skipping stone (and that’s the joke). Dumb as hell but as far as car/race films it’s kind of fine. I mean, how seriously do you need to take a movie about a cross-country race? It was originally going to called Cannonball Run 3 but was dropped from the franchise. I’ve never seen the others.
Thanks for this. You just solved a mystery I’ve had for most of my life. I caught that Lambo scene once on TV without context, and I’ve wondered for like 35+ years what movie it was. It always randomly flitted into my mind when I wasn’t near a computer, and then I’d forget to look it up.
I loathe to recommend AI chatbots, but they are good for stuff like this. I was talking to someone about a music video they remembered a couple parts of, so we asked ChatGPT and it told us what it was.
I’ve had a few white whales I’ve chased for years on Google. It didn’t work for me. I’m sure a chatbot could have found one of them a lot faster.

Not that ashamed, but it’s not a great movie.
The first Cannonball Run is a classic shit movie. You gotta put it on your list
