Opinion: Both The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal recently ran opinion pieces essentially preaching “gay is respectable, queer is the problem.” It’s not helpful, writes Josh Ackley.

So, in general, queer people are cool and don’t want to take away the rights of others.

It sounds to me like this, overall, is actually a good thing. Conservatives are beginning to acknowledge that they have lost their fight against “sexual deviance” as a whole, and are now reduced to arguing about what kinds of sexual orientation are acceptable. Let them play their word games.

no its not a good thing theyre trying to erode acceptance of queerness in general. right now theyre making an exception for gay people, but that is temporary. in time they will stop making that exception.
