minus-squarenevyn@slrpnk.netlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up27arrow-down3·3 天前0.3% change on the steam survey is not a “dip” it’s a blip.
minus-squareGoatSynagogue@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up14·3 天前When you only have 4% to begin with, 0.3% is not a blip lol. It’s almost 10% of your install base.
minus-squarebitfucker@programming.devlinkfedilinkarrow-up1arrow-down1·16 小时前In sampling and statistics, I’m pretty sure there are terms for that. To account for the fact that not 100% of the population are being sampled. Hmmm, I wonder what that term is.
minus-squarenevyn@slrpnk.netlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up7arrow-down1·2 天前It’s the steam survey, it’s rough as guts. Why would anyone even post this ‘result’ let alone try to market it as ‘oh no linux is dying fam bro lol’ It’s 0.3%
minus-squareGoatSynagogue@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up4·2 天前Again - it’s 10% of the total Linux amount. It’s a lot. The article isn’t saying Linux is dying, neither am I. Who is?
minus-squarenevyn@slrpnk.netlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·1 天前Assuming the top graph is accurate, it says a lot more about the reality, at least as far as steam ‘data’ is concerned https://www.gamingonlinux.com/steam-tracker/ The ‘issue’ is not a “dip” in June, the issue is the May data/variance, as well as the April data/variance. June appears normal.
minus-squarefar_university1990@reddthat.comlinkfedilinkarrow-up1arrow-down1·1 天前Steam result vary more than 0.3% just by user select variance. Very unstable. 0.3% over multiple month maybe around 10% of linux, but not for one month.
