A majority of voters in New Hampshire wrote-in Bidenā€™s name on ballots where he did not appear officially

President Joe Biden won the New Hampshire Democratic primary, despite his name not appearing on the stateā€™s presidential primary ballot.

The Associated Press called the race for Mr Biden shortly after polls closed on Tuesday night, as a majority of voters wrote in the presidentā€™s name.

Mr Bidenā€™s campaign purposefully did not file the presidentā€™s name for the ballot within the deadline in an act of solidarity with the Democratic National Conventionā€™s (DNC) decision to make South Carolina the first state to hold a primary.

The DNC said those who ran Tuesdayā€™s primary would not be awarded delegates, prompting Mr Bidenā€™s campaign to comply.

Congrats to Biden for winning a primary in NH after it was announced the primary meant nothing and Dems in NH have no say in their candidate because their state party leaders didnā€™t have time to change the state law that dictated when their primary was. Not to even mention, state party leaders donā€™t make state lawā€¦

There was literally no way the NH state party could have complied with the DNCā€™s request to move their dateā€¦

Considering his past performances in NH, this is likely the only way he was ever going to win there.

Moderates just donā€™t do well there, which is the real reason they canā€™t go first anymore and the DNC yanked their delegates this year.

People would be shitting bricks if the RNC did this to a state that always goes more liberal than the national party wants.

But the DNC doing it to a progressive state isnā€™t a big deal?

Against who?? Heā€™s an incumbent president, of course he was going to win the primary. Of his 2020 opponents, Warren, Sanders and Klobuchar are on record being proud of what Biden has been able to accomplish legislatively, and all three are 100% behind him, and Buttigieg is working in his administration.

Moderates just donā€™t do well there

Isnā€™t the governor of New Hampshire a Republican? Iā€™ve always considered New Hampshire to be a politically sane and somewhat moderate state

of course he was going to win the primary

Which makes all this bullshit so much more frustrating anywaysā€¦

Biden was always going to win this primary, so what the fuck is the point of all these shenanigans?

Is it the same as when Biden loses his temper with journalists and voters who question him?

Do we really want a president willing to do this shit in a primary election heā€™s all but guaranteed to win, and even if he loses, the party could still make him the candidate?

This shit isnā€™t rational behavior, and itā€™s going to depress turnout in the general when he needs it.

Of his 2020 opponents, Warren, Sanders and Klobuchar are on record being proud of what Biden has been able to accomplish legislatively, and all three are 100% behind him,

Because progressives would always prefer a moderate to a Republicanā€¦

But moderates donā€™t always prefer a progressive to a Republican.

Caring about the American people is a liability when youā€™re in a 3 way stand off with two people who have a week to live. They donā€™t care if they lose.

        Edit:

Iā€™ve always considered New Hampshire to be a politically sane and somewhat moderate state

        They are saneā€¦

Thatā€™s why they voted for Bernie in the 2016 and 2020 primaryā€¦

Which is why the DNC suddenly had a problem with them going firstā€¦

Iā€™d have loved Bernie to be in the generalā€¦ ever, but it just isnā€™t what happened and pretending it was some conspiracy just isnā€™t healthy. The candidate youā€™re in love with doesnā€™t always resonate with everyone else, and thatā€™s okay.

The DNC eliminated superdelegate voting for the first round of voting in the convention back in 2017. They would only have a chance to vote if no candidate reaches 50% in the first round, aka a contested convention.
