It’s a strange thing to think about: traditionally the us military is so highly budgetted that we could afford to lose an excessive amount of high priced equipment and ordinance compared to anyone else. If we spend ten times a potential opponent, no problem

But now in a world with low priced drone swarms and almost as low priced third world missiles, the multiplier is thousands, tens of thousands …… I believe there were aircraft losses so the multiplier might be millions. Even the us military can’t afford a war with those multipliers. And that’s assuming we could build the ordinance fast enough

Even stranger that I haven’t seen this discussed in news media

The leaders of the world are failing the people of the world, in favor of the shareholders of the world.

    The guillotines wait patiently.

I don’t care about Ukraine. Even when Dems win I don’t want them to get any. Ukraine is an Eu problem. We are broke guys, we are broke as a country. Payments on the debt are more than we spend on military, every year we borrow 2 trillions more than we make ( unbalanced budget).
Debt is going into completely uncontrollable territory - you think if aoc wins presidency she can do anything? Based where we are financially - we are up against immovable wall of obligations. Even if we take everything away from billionaires math does not work - we can’t pay it. We need to start being very smart with money we have and that includes issues like Ukraine.

I don’t want to be writing checks to fund another dumb war . Do u wanna fund military industrial complex instead of your health care? Really?

Defending Ukraine is the FIRST NOBLE US Military action in my lifetime…

The help we’re sending Ukraine is a fucking drop in the ocean for what we spend on the military.

Divert all Israel money to Ukraine and we’ll be good.

not true - we sent them hundreds of billions of dollars worth of crap over the years. and picked up obligations not worth our time. All while Europe sold everything to China.
same with taiwan. stupid waste of resources.
deliver all the military money to universal health care. We need a modern strategic arsenal but thats about it. where we are geographically we don’t need much - again, - debt is batshit uncontrollable

The overwhelming majority of what we sent them were things that were due or past due being decommissioned anyway, a process which would have costed more than giving them to Ukraine. Then we claimed them at the prices they would cost new in the budget to build completely new weapons. So we saved money on getting rid of old stuff and spent money buying new stuff. Ukraine actually did us a favor in taking it and blowing it up for us.

In a lawful world, she can’t. The president can only propose. The budget, including taxes, is the responsibility of Congress. Blame republican congressmen for the extra trillions in tax cuts to the wealthy. Blame both parties for decades of kicking the can down the road

We are broke because of a couple decades tax cuts for the wealthy

Sending equipment to Ukraine was a bargain, much cheaper than this fiasco in Iran

        • might actually be noble
        • no costs for aircraft or navy
        • no risk to American servicemen
        • improved military readiness. We were giving them older stock and restocking ourselves the latest and greatest
        • opportunity to learn how to fight a modern war
        • opportunity to develop drone warfare

Unfortunately Ukraine is the country which is gonna pay for it. And are currently paying for it by being unable to intercept Russian missiles.
