I am paying $2100/month for a house that I bought recently for $645k with 50% LVR.
“645k with a 50% LVR”…. Sure your cost seems low because you put down at least $320K. Don’t know of many people that have that much lying around. So it’s basically similar to financing $320K which would put you in that range.
I’m curious what your property taxes are?
575 a week with a touch under 400k to go
$3740/month, $935 a week sucks absolute balls but were better off them most
3300/month, bought house at end of 2020 for 620k. Repayments were comfortable at 2400/month until June 2022.
Are you happy ? Mate I am not feeling happy at all. The only reason I bought was because Mrs. wanted a place to call “home” which technically the bank owns for 30 years… The kicker : the house is a duplex, strata title with another owner and was built in 1977. I could have got almost brand new house if I 'would’ve ’ purchased before covid.
I’m not happy with current prices for sure, has put a real pressure on us.
I am happy about the house. Built 1985. Relocated to an area I have grown to love and gotten away from a poor 1 bedroom place I lived in for 15 years. And a real nice place to raise our daughters.
When I bought it, we said we worked hard to be able to do this, and we’ll keep working hard and one day be on top again. But then the economy shifted and we’re struggling to keep that optimism.
I am glad atkeast you’ve something to be happy about. Mine is a shitbox of a house but atkeast its only 4km to work so yea there’s that. CBF travelling 1hour+, to and from work for the next 10-15 years lol.
Yeah, I’m going 1h 15m each way for work. As soon as we see interest rate cuts I will gladly take the pay cut to work closer to home, but I can’t do that now until repayment gets down under 3000/month at least but I dream of something like 2800…
Mate, that sucks. For 15 years I lived in a 1 bedroom place I bought in Melbourne. No aircon, and no car, so had some brutal summers to get through. I thought I’d be stuck forever, never thought I’d know anything different.
I’m surprised we’re not seeing house prices come down. Where I am now in central Victoria, there’s 6 or 7 places around our street on the market for 6 - 9 months or longer. No one wants to budge and sell for cheaper so no one’s buying.
~1500 for a 2x1 unit purchased in 2015 at a stupid time for nearly 400k when the market was coming way down. Could have waited a year or two and been able to afford a house with a better deposit.
Thankfully getting close to having it paid off
$0.
