No one is “afraid” of shit, besides you most likely.
We dirty commies call people what they are. “Liberals” and “conservatives” in the US meaning are just the same thing for the last 40-50 years: neoliberals. The same as Thatcher-ites over in the UK, and similar types in France, Italy, Germany, etc. The US brand is, obviously, much further right wing, but belief-wise the democrats and republicans are in alignment on everything economically and their only disagreements revolve around a few cherrypicked and rehashed made up moral arguments.
And I don’t mean made up to mean they don’t matter: abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, civil rights for black people, and generally all citizens are incredibly important. But they’ve been used as a wedge by the uniparty neoliberal establishment to drive a wedge down what should be a united class of people. You indoctrinate like 30% of the country in a republic with incredibly bad election systems (electoral college and senate) to be racist, homophobic, etc. and you successfully create tension that leads to the same issues, which are not actually issues beyond hallucinations of racist bigots, being used over and over and over again meanwhile the economic questions are not questions: they are just implemented. No one, or very few (hello, you found a community of them), actually see what they’ve been doing/are doing.
