An aide to former Vice President Mike Pence described former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows as the ā€œringleaderā€ with much of the events that took place on Jan. 6, 2021.

Marc Short, Penceā€™s former chief of staff, said Meadows was ā€œcentralā€ in efforts to overturn the 2020 election on Jan. 6. Though Meadows was not charged in the Justice Departmentā€™s federal case, he was charged alongside former President Trump with racketeering and solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer in the Fulton County, Ga., election case.

Itā€™s kinda hard to see Meadows as the fall guy when the Trump call to Secretary of State (Ga) Ratzenberger exists, there shouldnā€™t be any questions when the jury hears that phone call because itā€™s indisputable proof that Trump was leading the pressure campaign to overturn Georgiaā€™s election results.

His behavior recently seems to indicate that he really doesnā€™t want to go to jail. Iā€™d bet heā€™s singing like a canary to get a reduced sentence.

All the more intriguing that he might be cooperating.

But also what are the odds the Chief of Staff in the White House is ā€œcentralā€ to a plan that never implicates the guy he reports directly to?

So we start to get reports that Meadows might be cooperating and now heā€™s suddenly being sold as the January 6th ā€œringleaderā€ to set the narrative that anything he tells the prosecution or says in court are just lies blame poor, innocent Donald Trump for Mark ā€œMachiavelliā€ Meadows scheming and having people ā€œwhispering falsehoods into the presidentā€™s earā€

Iā€™m pretty certain thereā€™s enough evidence showing that trump is the ringleader in everything that trump stands a chance to gain from.

So is the plan to blame as many cohorts as possible, and have them take the fall in exchange for a ā€œpardonā€ if Trump wins? Seems like a real gamble ā€” I wouldnā€™t trust Trump to win, or to grant a pardon if he did.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

An aide to former Vice President Mike Pence described former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows as the ā€œringleaderā€ with much of the events that took place on Jan. 6, 2021.

Marc Short, Penceā€™s former chief of staff, said Meadows was ā€œcentralā€ in efforts to overturn the 2020 election on Jan. 6.

ā€œRegarding Mark, look, I donā€™t think any of us relish witnessing whatā€™s happening to any of these people that we worked with,ā€ Short, who now leads Penceā€™s political advocacy group, told host Abby Phillip on ā€œCNN Primetimeā€ on Tuesday.

Meadows is trying to move his Georgia case to federal court, arguing that he is immune because the allegations against him were part of his job in the White House.

Short reiterated that Pence believed that he did not have the power in his capacity as vice president to interfere with the counting of the votes.

ā€œSo there had been a lot of conversations leading up to this, and Mark was central to pulling together many of those who were, I think, whispering falsehoods into the presidentā€™s ear,ā€ he added.
