I feel like it’s not something you see very often here compared to other items like knives and fidget items.

I have a JEYI 2230 NVMe case with a 1TB drive I keep on my keychain for backups of things that would be annoying to lose like my AntennaPod stats

I carry my late son’s school thumb drive (it is metal and has a hole for a keychain), and it has a copy of the last video I ever took of him (6 days before his death), his last school picture, and his last voicemail to me.

Sorry for your loss. I hope you have multiple backup copies of those files somewhere. The flash storage on those drives are the cheapest of the cheap and it isn’t unheard of for them to go belly up suddenly.

When I did much more general tech support for whoever asked, I carried a Live USB drive to boot from. I don’t offer that out anymore though, so no longer carry it. The closest to something digital would be my yubikey, and thats only EDC because its in my wallet

Same here! Still carry mine around and it’s partitioned so it’s also useful when someone wants to share a large file but doesn’t have the time to upload it or have the cloud storage to host it

Small metal memorystick of 256GB, with a usb-a and usb-c connector.

Can be plugged in nearly everywhere, even use it in my phone.

I’ve got one of those metal Samsung keychain USB sticks I loaded up with an assortment of tools from Portable Apps.

I keep a USBC thumb drive in the trunk of the car. It contains my password database and 2fa codes. These files are to get into my Proton Drive where I have anything important backed up.

    😅

i recently lost those after a factory reset. i understand what you mean and now i have the “automatic database export” (to sd) enabled… but i wouldn’t call that annoying. In my usbKey i rather have backups of official documents which, when lost, is really annoying and tiring to get back: birth certificates, all kinds of permits, licences, degrees &c

all is, of course, encrypted with veracrypt so the key also have installers for different systems

I carry a 2 TB Silicon Power drive on a keychain sometimes.

In addition to an encrypted partition for secure data transport, I keep a fat32 partition that can supplement phone media when I travel.

A few file formatting choices (mp3 or mp4 suffixes) mean that media playback usually works with tvs that I trust, too.

If I need more space, I can temporarily delete a few albums. No big deal.

I have a tiny Kingston microduo 3c drive on my keychain with some tech toolkit stuff. It is small and robust. Think I have had it knocking around for the last 4 years.

I used to carry one, but I never used it, so no.

I occasionally use local sharing apps on my phone, so maybe that’s considered digital storage?

I have a small pouch with thumb drives. One has tails, the others have files with various media on them. That plus an otg cable means I can have most of what I might want on hand in a pinch.

I rarely use any of it, but my bag has plenty of space, and the stuff is light.

But that’s my main bag, I don’t carry anything like that in-pocket.
