Aside from word of mouth here.

Aware of Reddit’s r/incrementalgames, https://galaxy.click, and whatever database was linked on the Reddit sidebar. I did hear about the 2024 game jam.

I think the real answer is your own memory… I hope that doesn’t sound too ridiculous but yea trawling around any way you can think and remembering to some extent for later is the way to go… can add I was lucky to find this japanese wiki which is quite detailed if you could read it https://w.atwiki.jp/clickeridle, I also can say because you’d never know there are some being made in minecraft on the hypixel server’s housing feature, the archivism aspect of that is the concept for a nightmare for sure but if the idea of a mariomaker esque incremental engine in minecraft feels like a good artstyle to look at then go for it. as a say most of them get deleted so its only memories to me… oops for answering what are the most obscure sources you know but that is what makes sense to me to say

Discord servers for other incremental games can be a great source - as long as their mods allow for cross-pollenation.

I quite TPT mods, so there’s two lists of mods here: https://raw.githack.com/ducdat0507/prestreestuck/master/finder.html Or https://ducdat0507.github.io/prestreestuck/finder.html

I used to play FairGame, like a LOT, and we frequently recommended games to each other there. Generally games with interesting mechanics or straight up oddness.

I want to have a trawl through the Japanese games Laleyou mentioned below - that looks like it’ll be fun! Firefox uses an in-built translator now, so we’ll see what comes from there :) (Edit: no Japanese support for xlation yet)

Aside from the sources you mentioned, I browse the itch page for games tagged incremental. There’s a lot of stuff there which isn’t posted on the other channels, although most aren’t personally engaging to me. Still, I find some gems once in a while.

Yeah, most recently one called Sixty-Four that’s still in early access on steam. It was pretty fun but some kinks are still getting worked out. I’ll probably return to it once it hits full release.

I liked the visuals and ambiance, I dropped off once balance got squiffy in the late midgame. I know the dev has been doing balance and QoL tweaks since then but I haven’t got back into a second time yet.
