Die Instanz (db0) hat mich auch von deren Europe-Community verbannt, weil ich kritisch gegenüber KI bin. Ich hatte nicht einen einzigen Beitrag gepostet oder Kommentar geschrieben. Das Admin- und Modteam ist echt eine absolute Spinnerbande. :D
Ich warte schon drauf, dass die tchncs-Instanz von denen auch deföderiert wird, weil Deutsche ja grundsätzlich eh alle Nazis sind und wir in einer simplen Schwarzweißwelt leben.
I’m just tired at this point. Years ago, contributing to open source projects felt good - you helped out the developer and in turn, any other human who used the software. There was a sense of accomplishment and pride in doing something great for someone else.
But in 2026, Github is just filled with AI-generated projects. The people running these projects often don’t have any idea what they’re doing and they don’t take ownership of their code. The LLM blasts something out, they ship it and then they forget about it. That’s not a good baseline for building something.
I have set up a PlayStation 2 to run Homebrew last week and that development scene is one of the best examples for how AI ruins a whole community.
There is a project for running games on the PS2, called OPL (Open PS2 Loader). Over the course of the last year, the main developers of OPL all left and the only active fork that gets any new features is RiptOPL. RiptOPL uses this banner on their Github:
Yeeeah, I’m not gonna contribute to that kind of cringeslop. I tested it out and it’s got stupid features (pressing a button aggressively vibrates the controller) and the same (if not even more) bugs than the main OPL. Because the developer didn’t fix anything! He just took pending pull requests from the main project, added some cringe banners and useless slop and let the AI do the work.
There’s also a file manager, called wLaunchELF. You can browse the filesystem of your console and launch applications from memory cards, USB sticks and harddrives. You can also spin up an FTP server and transfer files over Ethernet.
The most active fork that gets new features is wLE R3Z, whose developer used AI to build the thing and had to turn off all Ethernet features - because the LLM couldn’t figure it out and he didn’t have any clue either. We are actively losing features and the homebrew projects get worse at this point. Capable developers either leave or decide to not contribute at all and that ruins the PS2 homebrew scene.
I am also active on vogons, a retro-computing forum and the amount of LLM-driven hobby projects in there has skyrocketed as well. I don’t know…someone’s LLM figured out how to control notebook brightness on DOS because it had crawled an internal Intel datasheet. It’s useful, I guess…but if no one did the work, there is no one to admire for doing it. All of this feels hollow and useless, I didn’t get into the hobby of retro computing to have a computer do the hard stuff for me, doing it by myself is the whole point of it.
I do write my own software without LLM support and I am currently learning Sveltekit and having a ton of fun. I am not putting anything up on the web to get crawled by bots, though.
Fun fact: A lot of devs know what they’re doing is shit and try to hide it. I have seen so many people putting CLAUDE.md into their .gitignore so it’s not added to the projects. Motherfucker, if you don’t want people see you using AI, then just don’t use AI.

I thought it just wasn’t ready on Wayland, but after reading up a bit more this seems to be a problem with mesa on Fedora, because they build it with debug flags enabled which triggers a specific bug other distros don’t have.

Sie können russlandfreundliche Politik machen und gegen die deutsche Ukraineunterstützung schießen. Je mehr Macht und Einfluss sie haben, desto schwieriger wird es für die Ukraine.
Ein AfD-Innenminister hat ja auch Zugriff auf interne Infos des Verfassungsschutzes, und die schauen sich ja auch russische Desinformationskampagnen an. Das sind interne Infos die man eigentlich nicht direkt nach Moskau weitergeben möchte.
Dass da jetzt also nicht viel passieren wird, weil es ja nur Sachsen-Anhalt ist, ist eine sehr naive Sichtweise.
Ich hab von dem Kanal schon so einige Videos gesehen aber jetzt wo du es sagst, fällt mir die Ähnlichkeit auch auf! :D
Denke jedoch nicht, dass es Coldmirror ist, die Stimme unterscheidet sich doch erheblich von ihr (Kaddi klingt irgendwie “dunkler”) und für KI klingt es zu natürlich.
Hör’ auf dein Bauchgefühl und wenn es dir sagt, dass es problematisch wird, mach’ es nicht. Eine meiner Schwestern ist auch eine absolut unerträgliche Person. Laut, aggressiv, zu allem eine Meinung und wenig Ahnung und komplett kritikresistent - wir haben in der Familie über ein Jahrzehnt versucht, sie immer wieder zu integrieren und auf sie zuzugehen. Es hat uns allen nur super viel Kraft gekostet und am Ende nichts gebracht.
Letztendlich geht es uns jetzt viel besser, seit wir damit aufgehört haben. Manche zwischenmenschlichen Beziehungen sind nicht rettbar und wenn ich mir jetzt vorstellen würde, die nächsten Jahrzehnte mit meiner Schwester zusammenwohnen zu müssen…boah, näää.

Das ist etwas, was mich auch sehr stört, weswegen ich mich von meinem letzten zum aktuellen Arbeitgeber auch wieder “verkleinert” habe. Programmierung ist meine Leidenschaft und macht mir Spaß, doch da saß ich irgendwann nur noch in Meetings, hab’ den (KI-generierten) Code der Junioren kontrolliert und Anforderungshefte für zukünftige Aufträge zusammengeschrieben. Eine grauenvolle Arbeit.
Ich werde diese Woche 37 und bin erstaunt, wie schnell die Zeit vergeht. Gefühlt bin ich erst gestern auf die 30 zugegangen und jetzt doch schon so ein alter Sack (sorry an alle, die noch älter sind 😅).
Viel zu erzählen gibt es nicht. Der Sonntag war erst ganz gut (hab’ ein paar gute Indiegames gezockt) und dann deprimierend, ich hing da bis nachts noch im Hey Wolfi-Stream und alle haben gemeinsam gelitten.
Jetzt warte ich gebannt auf den GLS-Fahrer, der mir einen Röhrenfernseher vorbeibringt. Den hab ich mir als verfrühtes Geburtstagsgeschenk gegönnt, um authentisch PS2-Spiele zu zocken. Hoffentlich findet der auch tatsächlich meine Wohnung, denn wenn ich das Teil irgendwo aus einem Paketshop abholen muss, breche ich mir wahrscheinlich die Wirbelsäule. 🫠

I have a coworker who’s doing all of our UI and screen designs. Every time he has finished a design he immediately wants to talk about it and randomly calls. Sometimes when he spots small errors in a live project (“this looks a bit wonky in Safari”, “the headline here needs three pixels more margin”), he wants me to immediately fix them and gets pissed when I finish my current task first.
Dude, we all have work to do here, yours isn’t (always) the most important one. I am very close to escalating this to my boss, because it gets increasingly difficult to ignore it and sometimes it feels like he’s cosplaying as my manager.
In short: I hate getting interrupted when I’m in the middle of a task and I hate someone breathing down my neck. I’ll get to it when I get to it.
I love that QWERTY phones are having a comeback. Currently owning a Unihertz Titan 2 (not so great firmware, but good hardware). Clicks is building the Communicator and now there’s this project. Nice.
