I’m not a big fan of the concept of putting a payment app billionaire in a government role. At least he’s a space nerd and not just a grifter. I’m sure he crewed programs and SpaceX will do well, but we’ll see how Artemis changes (cut Gateway? Cut SLS? Start to move on from Orion?), and how the science directorates change. I also wonder if they’ll try to downsize some facilities, buy people out into retirement, etc.
I’m far more concerned for the “non-flashy” programs. There are a lot of scientific programs about to be cancelled in favor of utter bullshit programs like Artemis or some mars landing fever dream.
