So as an American, are there any hoops I have to jump through to buy one of these? Besides, you know, going to Canada…

Not certified for the US, won’t be able to be imported to the US. You can stand at the the border with your face against the glass and wish you were Canadian.

looks at our existent (but remarkably shitty) healthcare system, the insane costs of living even when forgoing any sibilance of happiness, and the fact that we were gonna slide into fascism too if it weren’t for the USA doing it first Yeah, better look somewhere else, I’m afraid…

Just gotta find somewhere without institutionalized greed…

What’s the cheapest you think an island could go for? The US will take it from me and use it to test bombs for funzies at some point, but I could be a little less stressed until then.

Maybe wait 20 years , figure out what loophole allowed a handful of Kei trucks to be imported.

At that point even 20 year old car tech might be more advanced than what we’d be saddled with

It’s not a loophole. You are permitted to import kei trucks >=25 years old.

The loophole is that “antiques” are exempted from safety regulations.

I thought I remembered seeing something about an explicit ban a year or so, but trying to find it I see state level registration bans
