President Biden on Monday night issued a plea for supporters to donate to his campaign in the wake of former President Trumpās victory in Iowa.
āLooks like Donald Trump just won Iowa. Heās the clear front runner on the other side at this point,ā Biden wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
āBut hereās the thing: this election was always going to be you and me vs. extreme MAGA Republicans. It was true yesterday and itāll be true tomorrow,ā Biden added, posting a link to a fundraising page.
Heās said the only reason heās running is trumpā¦
But also he said ā50 other Demsā could beat trump.
So it seems like less that heās running to stop trump from winning, and more knowing trump is his easiest opponent.
If all he cares about was stopping trump, yeah, he wouldnāt have ran in the 2020. Let alone 2024 when heās polling even worse.
Like Clinton before him, heās willing to risk trump because he thinks trump is one of the few candidates that would make someone vote D to prevent.
I hear that.

Voting is easy and convenient for me. Iām voting D like I do every election. Just not happy I donāt have a say in who that is for the next four years
The problem is people that donāt always vote because they have to fight suppression.

And thatās not opinion, we know it often doesnāt work. Itās just also the only way conservative Dems can still win. So thatās what weāre going to keep seeing
Sadly, thanks to Republicans, it isnāt for a lot of people. By design, because those people are more likely to vote for Democrats.
we havenāt had a say in that since Iāve been votingā¦ probably. Certainly since Iāve been paying attention to the primaries. ('16 is what really got me hyper focussed on them.)
