It would never happen because as soon as they take a little too much, they’d be kicked out of the troop. Like with everything else, overpopulation is a big part of the problem here. A human troop kicking you out doesn’t have huge consequences like it did when we lived in groups of 150 or so.

Overpopulation is a eugenics myth. Stop spreading it.

The problem is our economic and political systems incentivize the hoarding of resources behind private ownership in order to leverage access to them in return for status and power.

Stop handwaving from your underinformed pedestal and listen. Human population exploded in response to becoming more stationary and, more directly, in response to widespread grain agriculture (encouraging earlier weaning via oatmeal so ladies could get back to work). As populations grew, so did food demands… keep going for a bit and you get states and taxes and wealth disparity. Keep going for a bit and you get to where we are today. I’m not saying kill people - I’m saying that resource hoarding became a thing when we stopped hunting and gathering and started being more competitive over land and other resources. We started being more competitive when we started rubbing shoulders too frequently with people outside of our core tribes - when population exploded.

Nice attempt at shifting the goal posts. Did the human population bloom? Yes. Is that the same as Overpopulation? No.

Overpopulation is a myth of eugenics. Full stop. Nothing you said changes this. I know how civilization came about. I’ve read Graeber plenty.

Oh and you gonna end it with being xenophobic nonsense too? Rubbing shoulders with other cultures is a GOOD THING you regressive, primitivist fuckwit.

If those people are provided for by their community and able to live a stable life within it, why would they ever accept a position to harm that community and disenfranchise it of its resources?

For them to be hired they must first be destitute enough to consider abandoning their solidarity for the possibility of stability.

Never get involved in a land war in Asia is a known truism, thanks to the frigid Siberian winter and the mud season. Except there are plenty of historical examples of the Russian steppes being conquered, usually when there is a lot of internal strife between the factions there. A lot of the time they don’t really get a long.

And so it is with the US. The people here are struggling to get organized, and I still point to the massive far-right propaganda machine that dominates social media and television viewership that is telling us that our marginalized groups are the cause of all their woes. I want to believe we’re smartening up what with rising prices and illegal wars and the blatant corruption of the political and ownership classes. But much effort has gone into keeping the common white American really ignorant and stupid.

I think they’re going to try to do it with a large human paramilitary force, such as with ICE, and with the help of the surveillance state. For now they’re coming for the immigrants. Then the disabled. And then the protestors and then the Democrats.

I really hope we catch on before it’s too late.

I used the AK47 knowing it would bait gun nerds.

There is a reason the AK47 is a symbol of revolution for those that dare to resist imperialism. The AK47 is significantly more reliable and easier to maintain than either of those weapons. In guerilla warfare it is far far superior to either of those weapons. The AK47 keeps firing when it’s covered in dirt. The same cannot be said of the M-16 or M-4.

You’re essentially saying that reaper drones are superior to the Shahed drones. Yes. On paper. But it’s not about one weapon going head to head with another. It’s about what is actually best for winning the fight.

Iran has proven that high maintenance and high tolerance weapons with massive firepower and features will quickly become inferior to the easy to manufacture Shaheds that are essentially flying on a lawn mower engine.

Not to mention the countless resistance forces that defeated the American military with the AK47 as its flagship weapon of combat.

            Edit: Shahed not shaded. Autocorrect.

Sure it depends on what the conflict is, who’s fighting it, what the logistics and infrastructure looks like, etc. As a symbol, sure AK47. However in reference to America in this thread, actually an AR-15 type rifle would probably be the best symbol.

Don’t worry! If only the other monkeys allow that one monkey to own and monopolise all the banana trees, eventually some of the bananas will come trickling down to them… in the form of ape monkey piss.

Bananas rapidly devalue the longer they are held, cash stored in a bank or pretty much anywhere else increases in value

No, cash doesn’t. That’s the one benefit of inflation. It causes cash to lose its value over time. It encourages people to invest. But the wealthy don’t horde cash, they horde ownership and I’m sure that’s basically what you meant.

A bank will give you a laughably low interest that will not keep up with inflation. Rich people are not doing that. It’s okay to just say, thanks for the correction, and then move on with your life. You don’t have to get defensive for no reason.

Where are all the banana holders in today’s society? Everyones passing off their bananas, nobody is holding them up proud, we used to have a proud tradition of bananas in this, everyone loved them, everyone loved bananas. No bananas today, they’re gone, they tell me, gone.

That’s not at all the analogy being made here. The bananas being hoarded in a fair analogy would be a banana mountain reaching above the clouds. I don’t think family units within larger ape communities are doing that. Stay focused.
