Why are these articles commonly written as if their findings are a shock, large companies will consistently act against the public good because they are constructed to value maximised profit over any other consideration or moral outlook. If it was legal to wantonly kill puppies and made a profit they would be setting up giant puppy killing factories. Worst, given that it is not legal if it made a profit they would still quietly open smaller facilities with strategies to pay the fines if discovered.
