Translation might be off for this one. The translator says “Jucika’s evening school game”, but I think it might be getting the last word wrong. I resorted to finding another post of this comic via reverse image search, which just said “goes to evening school”
As always, stay tuned here on !comicstrips@lemmy.world for a slow trickle out of Jucika comics, but if you want to find more, here’s a good post with a large collection that /u/JohnnyEnzyme@piefed.social posted last year: https://piefed.social/post/1258520

Oof yeah, this one seems to be causing a lot of confusion. The title translates to “Jucika goes to night school”. Also the default usage would be “iskolába jár” which means go to the location of the school or to go to a course in the school but “iskolára jár” emphesizes the part of her being student as it only carries the second meaning. As for nightschools, it used to be a way for adults to further their education without having to stop working which means hes probably just being a smartass/nerd and shes using him to do her homework. The desks used to be insanely uncomfortable in schools in hungary so i dont think thats a detail important for the story.
Edit: also on second thought he might be whispering some not so appropiate things to her so yeah thats another possibility, idk this one turned out pretty confusing
This is one of those that I didn’t understand, at all. Fortunately there are explanations in the comments.
Edit: Tango’s explaination makes much more sense
She brings a guy from her class back h0me, under the guise of sex, but gets him to do her homework for her instead. Lol.
This literally happened to me once, except I didn’t do the homework and just sat around till she threw me out
Super based
I only realized it after I left
Okay, reading all the replies I got this one extremely wrong.
- Guy is complaining about how cramped his seat is.
- Jucika shows she appreciates him by taking him to her place.
- Jucika tells him to design better seats if he is complaining that much.
Yeah… way off.
Can someone explain the first panel? I’m not able to figure out if she is the teacher, or made to stand, or something else?
If it’s like the US in that era, students were expected to stand to answer questions. (and it looks like the smart dude is whispering the answer to her)
I think she’s standing to recite an answer, which is a common practice throughout the world. The doofus behind her is either heckling her or blurting out the answer ahead of her, or possibly trying to whisper the answer to her assuming she won’t know.
My initial assessment, originally possibly poorly articulated, is that she’s led Mr. Smart Guy here to her apartment in the hopes of some “extracurricular” activity and is either schooling him on the lesson or has tricked him into doing her homework for her if he thinks he’s so smart.
I’m editing to add that the perspective here is a little weird, which possibly makes this vague if you’re not fluent in the original language in order to understand the caption. (I’m sure as heck not.) If she’s meant to be the teacher it’d make more sense if she were standing at the blackboard or something. Instead, it looks like she’s astride or beside the same kind of desk as the guy behind her.
My guess would be that he is telling her answers in the first panel (maybe to court her), she tags him along after class, he thinks he will be getting some as a “thank you” in the third panel, but she has him do her assignment instead.
As often seen in the series, subverting an expectation of the time, and having her “weaponize” her femininity for personal gains (without ever really selling out to men).
She’s not standing up in her seat though as she blocks our view of the seat and is therefore beside it (or in front of it from our perspective). If she’s walking beside the desks that implies she’s the teacher (or professor if she’s teaching adults an advanced subject).
Her eye-rolling in the first panel suggests that she’s fed up with whatever nonsense the man is saying. My guess is that he’s proving to be a poor student for whatever reason.
In the second panel I assume she’s invited him back to her place that evening for some “extra tutoring” and in the third panel he comes to realize (to his disappointment) that she wasn’t speaking euphemistically.
My guess is that the difficulty in translating the title is due to some obscure local idiom for “Jucika’s extra tutoring gig” or “Jucika’s evening class side-hustle”.
Now that you mention it, that interpretation makes perfect sense.
She certainly holds down a lot of jobs! I recall a strip posted earlier where she was working as a welder.
I’m imagining it as he says something like
Let’s go back to your place and I’ll “help you with your homework”.
He was planning to make out with her, but instead she actually had him do her homework.
- He helps her answer a question.
- She rewards him with sex.
- He now does her work for her cause he’s pussy-whipped.
Oh she got game all right.
She got that trump standing pose
Anterior pelvic tilt (though in her case I think it’s the heels)
Half a centaur.
