      That entirely depends on interpretation. Roman Catholics believe you need to do good to get into heaven. It’s only some denominations who think it is through the grace of God alone and it matters not what you do/did.

        If God did come down as human and suffered death for our sins, then why would that salvation only apply to some people? It doesn’t take any more to grant that salvation to everyone than it does to some subgroup of humanity. If god’s real, if the story of Jesus is real, then the salvation must be applied universally, christian or not, good or bad.

          The logic of those denominations is not everyone chooses to follow Christ’s path. Christ’s death is seen as forgiving original sin not forgiving all of your sins. Roman Catholicism believes you have to be a good person and do good things for people to enter heaven. You don’t get in by default as then there would be no reason not to be bad.
