CalArts Style + Gimmick setting = I’ll watch it in 5 years after it’s canceled when I’m stoned with 6 hours of spare time

I don’t mind the art style per se, it’s the animation style I’m sick of. We have crazy good technology and shit is still animated like some super advanced flash animation. There’s no more emotions and intentions behind the strokes of the brush like before. The line work is just consistent and bland.

Can’t really blame the animation style, IMO. Most of these cartoons are produced under what are essentially sweatshop conditions in South Korea, and getting fine details and real artistry can very quickly pass the point of diminish returns. Animators and creators usually have a lot more time to develop the character models and the general look of the show. If the picture from the post thumbnail is from the show, then I’m saying that it looks incredibly uninspired and lazy.

Same. But 1.2 means 1.2% of people in that age group watched the show, so it’s actually pretty high

It’s been awhile since I watched Fox animation but I already love the show. It seems to be set in Greece around 1000-800 BCE. It features a guy trying to set up a city and a wider civilization but the greek gods keep interfering and bickering among themselves.

      A 1.2 rating sounds bad …

Do you see the pH scale and go “hmm, a pH of 1 seems bad”?

It’s always remarkable to me when people feel the need to attach their approval or judgment to things they have absolutely zero clue about — despite the answer being a cursory Google search away.

Here’s a current list of of the top-10 Nielsen-rated programs as of last week:

1	NBC SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL 9.6
      2	SUNDAY NIGHT NFL PRE-KICK	6.9
      3	60 MINUTES 6.8
4	MNF ON ABC (BUF AT NYJ) 6.7
5	FOOTBALL NIGHT IN AMERICA PT 3	5.2
      6	MON NIGHT KICKOFF 4.7
      7	YELLOWSTONE 1 4.1
      8	AMERICA'S GOT TALENT-TUE	3.4
      9	AMERICA'S GOT TALENT-WED	3.0
10	FOOTBALL NIGHT IN AMERICA PT 2	2.2

The tenth-most-watched program had a score of 2.2.

I would laud your technique for inspiring others to listen to your words of wisdom and absorb the teaching you have to offer here, but that would require me to first completely flip the definitions of “wisdom” and “teaching”, and I just don’t have it in me today. So I hope that “well done” and “you’re a treasure” will suffice. Bless your heart.

Or maybe most things are reviewed using a 1-10 scale, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best, so most people assume a low “rating” falls on the typical rating scale we’ve all used for centuries. No need to agitate your sciatica, dad.

It’s okay to be embarrassed because you didn’t know how the Nielsen rating worked and I gently pointed out how easy it was to determine.

          It’s okay.

You don’t need to reply and get upset over it and result to personal attacks. It’s not a good look on you, champ.

I thought the standard was a 1-7 scale, with 5/7 (with rice) being the highest possible score…

Matt Berry is a one-trick pony who plays the same character in every damn show.

    And it’s hilarious.

Like all Harmon projects this will be good for 2 to 3 seasons before be gets bored and hands it over to the B team to ruin.

This is about the broadcast? Oh so it is basically meaningless. The target audience for this show doesn’t watch broadcast tv.
