How to get out of an uncomfortable egg culture situation with this one simple trick.

Real talk: Calling people eggs is a violation of the egg prime directive, and is considered invalidating as you are trying to say that a person is not the gender they identify as, that their identity is invalid. Donā€™t call people eggs, like ever, itā€™s extremely uncool.

The whole egg discourse puts a bad taste in my mouth as well. Iā€™ve referred to my past self as an egg and then had someone tell me to stop using that word because itā€™s groomer language. Iā€™ve never violated the egg prime directive and never will, but I like using egg to describe my past self. However, now when I use the term I get worried because I just donā€™t want to deal with people who have a stick up their butt.

Edit: I made this comment not fully understanding the word egg and the discourse around it and I let my emotions take the lead, which I really shouldnā€™t have. I donā€™t agree with the person I replied to. All identities are valid, none are a terrible fate, and it is a personā€™s own decision as to what their gender is. People who say egg is groomer language when itā€™s being used to refer to oneself are just trolls or ignorant and should really just be avoided. Even when egg is being used against the prime directive, I donā€™t think it is productive discourse because it is just an accusation when they should have instead explained why the egg prime directive should never be violated, so I guess overall itā€™s best to just not engage. Moving forward, I will try my best to take time to think instead of immediately responding to my emotions.
