Stephen Colbert has received an “anti-censorship” award from the Before Columbus Foundation. The foundation, based in Oakland, California, champions diversity in U.S. literature and culture.
The gesture is nice but this isn’t going to change anything. He still got censored.
But they don’t control whether he gets to stay on the air, only whether they themselves personally offer him an award.
Do whatever good you can, when and where you can.
Correct, even a baby step in the right direction is a step AND the right direction.
Turns out the bullshit “cancel culture” narrative only applies to anything that gives chuds a sad. I still don’t see how any conservatives have been “cancelled”.
I think Charlie Kirk got cancelled.
Charlie Kirk becoming a gun statistic in the middle of a smarmy comment about gun violence will never not be funny.
Specifically a white gunman when ranting about black violence.
Truth

After all the amazing work he did during the Rally To Restore Sanity, I think he’s earned this much respect.
Agreed.
That was a great day. Thanks for prompting a trip down memory lane.
Hey, didn’t see you there that day! Or my friend that I was supposed to meet. Couldn’t get around much with that huge crowd in the way.
Yeah, my little group met up in Arlington and traveled together so we wouldn’t get lost.
It was nice to be with such a huge group of people who all had a good sense of humor. We don’t get a lot of that these days.
I will agree that he deserves more than this, absolutely.
Yeah. About as useful as a FIFA peace prize.
But not near as shitty
Oh :( I thought this was him winning a law suit
Stephen should run for dead old Lindsay Grahams seat.
Not ‘til after Lord of the Rings!
Come on Stephen, do the Public Access Television Tour. Don’t make us beg:
CBS took copyright enforcement actions against Colbert. They’ve supposedly come to an end, but who knows for sure. Colbert seems silenced.
