You can suck dick without being a monster, rapist, or pedophile. Dick sucking is not inherently bad, in fact I would say, it is good by default. Stop relating the LGBTQ+ community to pedophilia for no reason at all.

Fox news is such a shit show. Guy on the left asked no good faith questions, he was not looking for a real answer. Guy on the right did such a great job keeping a calm demeanor while being repeatedly interrupted and ridiculed.

Watching this as a European, it’s wild how blatantly hard this “news” anchor repeatedly tries to twist the guys words to make him sound like he’s saying something he’s not.

Like the guy’s being perfectly reasonable in almost every point:

      • We’re all paying taxes for healthcare benefits, why are we not all getting access to them?

      • The US treats illegal immigration with a bizare level of criminality. Unless there’s violence involved, then its a civil matrer, so why are militarised bloodthirsty hounds being set upon these people?

      • Speaking of which… ICE are litterally going around in masks, racially profiling and detaining and killing US citizens. Why are they not being held to account?

It actually makes me happy to see that anchor squirm when the guy brought up Donald Trump being a pedo and the pushing under the rug of the Epstein files.

Because Fox News is not, nor has it ever been, an actual news outlet.

They are GOP/Oligarch/Israel/Russia/etc funded US state propaganda. They were founded and are owned by a fascist Australian businessman (Rupert Murdoch) who owns other outlets like Sky News.

TV rules are weird in the US. This is going to be simplified, but essentially it’s accurate as I understand it. Because of the first amendment guarantees of freedom of speech and freedom of the press, the government can’t actually tell you what you can and can’t say.

Except in the case of broadcast television. Because the way the law works, the right to use those radio signals is owned by the government and granted to companies. So the FCC gets to decide what you can and cannot say on a broadcast television channel.

Fox News is not a broadcast channel, it is a cable channel. So the government doesn’t get to tell them shit and they can get away with whatever they want.

The other bullshit is, “news” channels have to abide by rules and regulations against bias and misinformation. Every time Fox News gets sued for something like that, they say, “We’re not “news” we’re “entertainment media”, no reasonable person would take anything we say as fact” to avoid being regulated or held accountable. This was their entire defense in the Tucker Carlson v Dominion Voting case

There was a graph going around during Stewart’s first stewardship of the Daily Show, listing how well viewers of various news programs scored on a test of current affairs. The Daily Show came in third, ahead of every single “real” news channel save PBS and NPR. A comedy program is a more reliable news source than the actual news!

(Fox was near the bottom, as one would expect.)

You’re confusing Defamation law and the repealed “Equal Time” rule.

There are currently no rules about what is and isn’t news.

There are laws about what is and isn’t defamation. Whenever Fox gets sued for Defamation, they bring out the “we’re entertainment not news, so no one should believe us” line.

The UK public in general has known to avoid any Murdoch-owned UK news outlet since said outlets hacked people of interest’s phones in 2011, and many folk learned just what an oligopolistic pos Murdoch is and how the bias of his companies shouldn’t be trusted. I assume the majority has forgotten or doesn’t care, but they had the opportunity to know and avoid Murdoch corporations.

Should’ve been wary of it before.

Murdoch killed the British newspaper unions because he took out a loan to establish FOX in America, and he used the salaries of the workers for his British papers to pay for it.

Honestly, he should’ve been laughed out of business the moment he established the misogynistic and pedo-like page three girl.

Our media here has been captive for decades. And it’s not just Fox News (though they’re the most obvious as they don’t really bother trying to cover it up).

They’re all so terrified of losing access that they never hold anyone’s feet to the fire, or even ask follow up questions after blatant lies.

        It’s frankly embarrassing.

Yeah, the most blatant example of this is national debates. On the topic of healthcare I’ve not seen a national debate that hasn’t framed universal healthcare “questions” as some sort of extremely expensive unaffordable luxury that will make jesus cry because it’s communist.

IE “Mister Sanders, you support universal healthcare which our analysts say will cost 1 trillion dollars and will cause insurance companies to go bankrupt costing thousands of jobs. How will you solve these problems?” (not exact, but pretty close).

7 min mark but honestly you should watch the video. The host is effectively leaning absolutism and our guy is not having it and finally gives in with a what aboutism of his own which is the Trump Pedo comment.

The hosts logic is that there was a case where a 6yr old was raped by an immigrant therefore ICE is necessary. I’m sure this is some kind of logic fallacy. Slippery slope? Some one will correct me. :)

You’re absolutely proving your inability to read.

That’s self identified. Very different from “considered maga by others” or any other label. Many don’t self identify as something but support it completely. Many don’t self identify and don’t support. You’re trying to twist numbers.

Here, let’s back this up with data instead of your feelings.

              https://d3nkl3psvxxpe9.cloudfront.net/documents/econTabReport_8FWGyNz.pdf

That’s a YouGov poll of American voters. 27% of all voters identified as MAGA, 54% of those who voted for Trump self identified as MAGA.

Roughly 156,000,000 ballots were cast in 2024, of those roughly 77,000,000 were cast for Trump.

              .27x156,000,000=42,120,000
              .54 * 77,000,000 = 41,580,000

That’s still way more than the 3 million viewership they claim. But wait, we can do more.

              https://www.pewresearch.org/journalism/2025/06/10/the-political-gap-in-americans-news-sources/

Data shows that 57% of Republicans go to primarily Fox for their news.

Is it hyperbole to say only MAGA watch Fox News? Yeah okay sure. But anyone who didn’t fail high school should have enough neurons to rub together to understand that’s what my statement was but also that statistically MAGA or close to MAGA is their largest viewing base and they lean into that far right.

PSA - Adding ‘lol’ to your stupid opinion does not convert it into a fact.

      Are Americans really this stupid?

      For the most part, yes.

Just to back you up, the voters lived through the first trump presidency, then THE MAJORITY OF THEM said “another, please”

Nothing. It’s an attempt to associate LGBTQ people with something for which we already have strong negative emotions in order to make/keep them the Source of All That Is Bad, around which simple minded voters can be rallied.

Furthermore, it can be used to derail legitimate discourse. You’re forced into a defensive position when interviewed and asked “why are you defending a pedophile” and your first response needs to be “LGBTQ is not the same as pedophilia”. There’s an immediate ick, even though it’s 100% correct.

I may just be desensitized but i read it more like the way you would read “shit eating pedophiles” as in it’s more of a general insult than a literal dick sucking nonce

Or it’s a parallel to the dicksucking these " " " " News " " " (quotations for emphasis of their distance to actual journalism) channels do for their nonce filled political class
